He did hurt his right hand, but that was after when he should have finished him.
That fight need not have lasted longer than 2 rounds. It was prolongued due to Cotto pissing around.

I say fair play to him
He showed Gomez the respect that every boxer deserves in that sort of situation. There's no way that you can go out there, knowing full well that they are subordinate to you in terms of class, and just destroy them. Its inhumane.
Respect goes out to Cotto on an extremely impressive, professional performance.

I think that's just the way Cotto fights now, he's a calm veteran who systematically destroys people.

When he gets someone hurt, he doesn't get over-excited and reckless, he just goes back to picking them apart piece by piece. I thought it was a very impressive and professional performance by Cotto.
I completely agree with your analysis Pea!

I also thought he hurt his right hand. Everytime he landed a good straight right, he pulled it back and waved it around similarly to how Gatti used to do...

Cotto did not hurt his right hand.

Cotto did this early in his career.

    Shoot and cock the gun.

Kelly Pavlik does it a lot too.

This was Cotto just having fun and sparring/target practice. If there was any pain in Cotto's right arm, it could be from the titainium rod but Cotto has never really mentioned anything about having trouble with his arm after the operation. He was in the hospital for a month and was back in the ring 5 months later.

Cotto was just show boating. I was not too happy with it but It will make for a funny highlight reel when I make it move back and forth in some strange motion

Cotto wasn't even trying. He was sloppy, but he didn't really care. Gomez was less than a tune up in my eyes.
