I should be ashamed of myself (Cotto Vs. Gomez)

Okay, I used to be a fan of Gomez's when I watched the show, but since he beat Gatti, his head swelled with self importance, as evident with his cheesy videos he made for the fight, plus all the crap he was spewing before the fight. So I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Cotto embarrass, and humble him. He needed to be taken down a notch.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't want to see the kid get seriously hurt. I was pissed that his own father didn't stop the fight, as some of you have said.

I've watched the fight 8 times already, and I'll probably keep watching it some more. I keep hitting the instant replay button at a few points in the fight, like when Cotto gives him a look right after the bell rings at the end of the 1st round, it's a look as though he's telling Gomez that he doesn't deserve to be in the ring with him. Also the body shot, putting him down. I just love watching those over and over again. I'm going to ask Danny to make gifs of those for me.

Cotto took it easy on him. This was a pro vs. an amateur. I liked it, because it illustrated the difference between a top pro and a nobody. Cotto could've really hurt Gomez if he wanted to, but he was happy to merely humiliate him. Some chump in a couple years is gonna beat Gomez and pretend this makes him a challenger. Any good fighter can look like gangbusters vs. mediocre talent. Every fighter out there has a highlight film vs. chumps like these. Its when you step up to the top guys is when you make your bones.

Cotto is and has been the real deal, he took this fight because it made some good money and was a good prelude to the Margo fight. He has been fighting some top guys, so he deserves a bunny.

I'm a Floyd fan, but if Floyd wasn't from my home town and gym, I'd be a bigger Cotto fan. I love this guy's skills and attitude, who doesn't? I still think Floyd is too skilled not to beat him right now, but Cotto is just awesome to me.
