Sure it may seem he wont be able to hit floyd with all of floyds running and ducking. Thats fine though cause tony is one of the decieving veteran fighters out there. He gets down to the nitty gritty and finds the route to a victory. Im not saying he'll beat floyd for sure but what im sure of his he is likely to find a way to. Remember floyd/castillo? can you figure out how castillo was able to land? im sure tony can figure how to.
Like I said Castillo is a way better, faster, technically trained fighter htan TOny. His punches were sharper, he used a lot of holding on the inside to get his punches off, and his was able to time Mayweather because Mayweather fought differently back then. Because Mayweather hardly uses the jab anymore its almost impossible to time him, and Castillo picked his punches while Margarito just throws anything. DId you watch Mayweather vs Chavez, N'Dou? THat more how I see this fight going, but even those two were faster than Tony.

forget about it taeth, you know how in boxing a fighter comes in as a huge underdog and he gives a whole lot of problems to the fighters thats suppose to just maul him. Well this is how it could go down, tony showing nothing much to be able to win and floyd is suppose to be an unlitimate slick boxer fighter but gets run down somehow with tony's ways.

Taeth, I totally agree. You actually beat me to the Baldomir comparison. Floyd would almost pitch a shutout against Tony. I can't see Tony winning more than 2-3 rounds if any.

Margarito is clearly a better fighter than Baldomir. But I still don't see him winning more than a couple rounds against Floyd.

Floyd would beat Margarito imo. But it would be his toughest fight.

And Marg would wreck this Shane Mosley. No doubt about that in my mind.I've said that for a while. Mosley wouldn't outbox Tony.Nor does he have a good jab. He'd use his handspeed, realise t's not enough and get outworked and outhustled.

As for using Clottey v TOny as an example. It's silly. Tony went into the fight with a wrist injury and an ankle injury, ergo the arm punches. He couldn't use his fulll force.Mayweather fights NOTHING like Clottey. Clottey stood there and banged with Tony, countered. That's like saying Tony beat Cintron so now he can beat Mayweather. It's dumb.

And people use the analogy that so and so is faster than Marg but it's dumb because EVERYONE is faster than Tony. Hasn't stopped him beating them though has it? Also, who gave Floyd his toughest fight? Was it Judah or Oscar?NO.It was the considerably slower JLC.

With regards to Tony's losses.Do some research:go check Boxrec and see how old he was before you open your mouth.

These threads are stupid as hell. Here's an idea... How about they fight sometime so we can ACTUALLY see what happens.

there's no point saying margarito can't do this or that when mayweather hasn't proved that by actually fighting him

Margarito has a granite chin and a stoney mentality.
He is the type of fighter that brings credability to a division as in order to beat him a fighter must be extremely skilled or of greater determination.

In fighting Mayweather we must remeber Margarito would avail of a huge advantage in reach height and physicality.
In order to compete with Mayweather, margarito would have to expend a lot of energy in movement, an area he lacked ion in fights such as williams and Cintron, but with his mentality he could stick to the job and although I don't see him beating Mayweather I see him presenting a tough fight.

Won't ever happen unfortunately, unless Margarito flukes a KO, then Floyd will jump at the chance, like he did Baldomir.

Can't see Floyd losing to Margarito either, but can see Margarito being a pain in the ass fight for him, and one where Floyd would really need to utilize his mobility, especially his lateral movement, because Margarito will keep coming,

It would also be about angles for Floyd too, stopping Margarito from getting set, so as to keep him moving and keeping him off balance...

I dont see how Margarito would be causing problems for Mayweather because he wouldn't be able to catch Mayweather, like I said before people thought Baldomir would give Mayweather a really tough fight because of his mentality and granite chin, but Mayweather drained that determination right out of Baldomir. Margarito isn't really better than baldomir. He hasn't foughten really good boxers who can move, and anyone who used movement against him has given Margarito a ton of problems.

I agree with most of what Taeth wrote. However, there is no way that Floyd can physically stop Margarito from coming forward. And it's not like Floyd dances around the ring. He likes to hang on the ropes and dodge punches as opposed to "float like a butterfly." Floyd will NOT KO Margarito-NEVER!! Margarito will test Floyd's stamina (not to say Floyd doesn't have good stamina). Margarito is physically superior to ANYONE Floyd has ever fought. I believe Margarito has a better chance than Hatton or Baldomir ever had. Still, I am not saying Margarito will win. Just that it will be a PHYSICAL test, the likes of which Floyd has NEVER experienced.

He certainly would have a better chance. But I only gave Baldomir and Hatton about a 5% chance of beating Floyd, so that's not really saying much. I'd give Margarito a 15% shot or so.

THat COULD happen, but I am just saying... People in the Ring magazine, on espn, and other sites thought Baldomir's toughness and stamina and timing would eventually catch Mayweather only to have MAyweather run away with every round. There was a ton of people that thought Oscar was going to knock Mayweather out, but he wasn't able to. All I am saying is if OScar can't land on Mayweather than I have a hard time seeing Margarito landing on Mayweather.
