Hopkins-Calzaghe round-by-round - Boxing - Yahoo! Sports
DECISION: Yahoo! Sports has it 114-113 for Bernard Hopkins
Ok well i must admit i was busy doing my VERY drunken rbr and sms'ing my brother so i'll have to review the rbr i did and the fight again but the guys who really do know what they are talking about on this forum thought Joe won the fight so you have to give that some cred.

One judge had it Hopkins, two Calzaghe.
It was a close fight. If all three had it Hopkins - that would have been a joke.
We all know who landed the most punches and it wasn't Hopkins. To be fair Hopkins landed the bigger punches in the first half of the fight - Calzaghe in the later rounds.
This was always going to be the big issue for Hopkins in this fight, and that was dealing with Calzaghe's workrate, and although he started out well, he showed his 43 years in the second half of the fight and just wasn't able to keep up with Joe for full rounds.
Despite two breaks for alleged "low blows" of which hopkins milked in order to get a break, he still didn't have the energy to land enough to claim rounds, and Calzaghe took it fair and square.
And as for the "idiot" Kevin Iole on Yahoo Sports....there may be a reason he'ds not got a more high profile role for this evenings entertainment....like not being able to call the winner.... ;![]()
Did you all have JC winning, hope so im probly just being pessimistic
Will need to watch again tomorrow after 3rd round i thought Hop had him screwed by making him fight his fight. Joe looked weaker than he is at SM, those punches really looked like nothing in first 6 rounds compared to hop. I'm JC fan but gave rounds to hop just bc i expected a much diff fight, drank a lot btw so will watch sober tomorrow to score again.
Ok i guess it depends of the judges.
