I think this fight will happen next. A win would be a nice feather in the cap for both fighters. I slightly favor Jones but I could see either guy winning. Definately will happen though.

I don't even think this is a question. Calzaghe wins this on easily. What really has RJJ done lately? Not much his last quality win IMO was 5 years ago against Tarver. It would be nice for Joe to get a nice payday but if we're talking quality fights, how about Chad Dawson?

Joe can't keep beating up on these OAP's sooner or later he's going to get an ASBO

We're not talking quality fights, we're talking money fights.
Jones is a big name and will help sell the Millenium stadium out and he'll make an exciting fight. Joe gets a win and a nice pension fund top-up.
Jones has a very good right hand lead which will cause Calzaghe a lot of problems, i wouldn't be surprised if Jones decked Calzaghe.
Yeah but he hasn't had the power or the flash since he got KO'd twice
Its not so much the power of the shot Lyle, The speed and timing of the shot would shock Calzaghe similar to how Hopkins floored Calzaghe with timing but Hopkins isn't nowhere near as fast as Jones, remember even though Jones is past his prime. He would still be the fastest guy Calzaghe has ever fought by far.
RJJ still hasn't been the same since those fights ....he has fought 3 fights since he went 0-3 losing twice by KO to Tarver and Johnson.
In those 3 fights: Ajamu, Hanshaw, and Trinidad he never once won by KO when if he was in his prime he would have destroyed those guys

If RJJ had the speed or power that he used to have I would totally agree, the lead right cross plus the leaping left hook/uppercut he has would be the end of Calzaghe's winning streak. But the way things are right now, I see Roy getting beat to the punch and taking lots of shots that he wouldn't normally take.
Roy is done, he couldn't KO Trinidad and that should have been a sign
Calzaghe wouldn't ko Trinidad either, IMO there are a lot of fighters who wouldn't have been able to KO that version of Trinidad. Also I don't think Roy would be beaten to the punch as much as Calzaghe would dictate the pace and not allow Roy to get anything off by bombaring him with punches. I think if Calzaghe fought at a slow pace Roy would beat the shit out of him, but thats not Calzaghe's style.

I give Jones a real good chance against Calzaghe on what i saw in the Hopkins fight, one thing is certain Calzaghe won't knock him out with those punches he throws. At this early stage i go for Jones!

jones is like 40, and his success had alot to do with athleticism...
calzaghe would STILL probably lose to a 40 year old guy who relies so heavily on athletic ability, but im sure everyone will overlook that after the fight and claim that he landed more punches against jones then anyone or some bullshit
seriosly calzaghe is a fucking joke calling out jones at this age
I don't think Calzaghe is really calling Jones out at thise stage as much as RJJ is calling Calzaghe out and Joe just wants some huge paydays and people will pay to see this fight because RJJ will build it up like he's 100% back to normal and the best fighter ever and this fight vs Hopkins makes Calzaghe look more human.
It's all an illusion....#1 Nobody has an easy fight vs Hopkins #2 Roy is still afraid to get hit and #3 Roy's reflexes ain't what they used to be....it'll be a tough competitive fight but I think at this stage Joe takes it hands down

I think Jones would beat Calzaghe yes he is an old Jones but he is still fast and powerful i think he can roll the clock back for one night only and give Calzaghe an ASS whooping.
