Grow up, guys.
...hey I respect what the English did but to not see it as a group effort in defeating the Axis Powers is sad.

Much as I love a good row, I thought this thread was originally about the Welsh not booing the American anthem .... how did we suddenly get to the English on this? It is a fairly fine distinction, but Welsh people don't class themselves as 'English', especially on St George's Day
Incidentally, by a strange and vaguely interesting quirk of fate, my grandfather on my mother's side fought for the British/Allies in Europe but my grandfather on my father's side fought with the German Askari troops in East Africa. The side they happened to be on, or the army they were in, does not automatically make them cowards.
Being an ex-soldier myself, I can't help but get a bit defensive when I hear what I assume to be 'civilians' pontificating about the merits of relative combat bravery from the comfort of a computer screen, possibly when the nearest they have been to real conflict is watching Private Ryan' on the television
I must also (shockingly) agree with Lyle, that anyone whose country is being slagged off would probably get angry about it - but you're just fuelling a fire with some of these people, Lyle, I think.
