Who do you think has more credibility?

Witter had the beltand was ranked no 1 or 2, simple! it would have been a good fight we all wanted to see it its not now going to happen

I am going to leave it at that Donny and we will have to disagree

Personally I would rarther see him fight Witter than Paulie I see a very easy night for Hatton against feather fisted Malignaggi
I don't want to ignite an arguement, but Witter's ranking at No.2 (after Hatton) was more a reflection on the lack of depth in the Light Welterweight division at the moment.

People continue to complain that Ricky hasn't fought anyone since Tszyu.
But in trurth there are very few others remaining at Light Welter. Since Cotto's immigration all that remains is Paulie, Torres, Kotelnik, Witter and D-Hop.
Although Bradley can now be added to that list, it is clear that there is little flexibility in the division.
Witter demanded his hot, but in truth, what sort of a fight woulkd it make?

The lack of depth IS the reason the Witter fight made so much sense, if Hatton had stayed at welter it wouldn't matter, but he came back down with his tail between his legs to claim his throne and it was Witter who was there waiting for him. It's the fight the majority of the fans wanted, instead they get shafted for a ppv against a washed up lightweight, that's what Ricky truly thinks of his fans.

Anyway, Saddo's spoken, that's the end of the matter

Wait up! Hatton has made this fight for UK time for his fans and lost a lot of coin from it.

I doubt he'd make more money in Vegas fighting Lazcano.

The ridiculously rich mega-millionaire took a slight dent to his millions payday against Lazcano to benifit his fans..

.. Or maybe the truth is HBO and Showtime, rightly, rejected the fight because it's so crap

This is the type of thing that's put me off Hatton recently. While to be fair he's no more of a businessman than most fighters (and you certainly can't begrudge a fighter making the most of a short and dangerous career), he seems to have fabricated this public image that he's a take on anyone warrior and that fame hasn't changed him a bit. 20% same old Ricky, 80% can't stop banging on about it.

If Hatton beat Witter on Sat, it would have been a great addition to his resume (even though Witters rating of no.2 was a bit much)

Then why wasn't Witter able to reinforce his repuatation against a seemingly easy defence and force Hatton to fight him?

    Look...
Witter got beat and proved he's not on Hatton's level.
    End of.

    Bradley Hatton anyone?
Obviously Witter is out of the pecking order now, still doesn't excuse the fact he was previously avoided.

Bradley Hatton has the makings of a good fight IMO, but he's inline with Torres, Kotelnik and Paulie for a fight with Ricky and he hasn't got anything special to elevate him above the others. Since Witter lost Paulie is the main guy for Hatton to face so it's worked out well for him, let's hope Paulie puts onn a show in Manchester to make a big fight in the autumn.
If Hatton were to beat Malignaggi and either Torres or Bradley would you be satisfied?

If he finishes his career beating Malignaggi, Bradley, Torres and Holt would that be considered poor?

That would be a vrey good ending to his career IMO, and he could rightly claim to be one of the best LWW in history, it's what he should do as I can't see another route for him to take without taking on the WWs again.

Don't begrudge him his success. But it's a bit rich carrying on the "man of the people" bullshit and conning fans into believing you're taking paycuts for their sake.

Fuck the fans that buy all his PPV's too.

It's ironic the thread starter accuses Witter of only being in it for the money

There's nobody left for him to fight.

He'll have to finish his career with the big names at 140 because thats all he has left to beat.
