"If there's a better chin in the world than Pryor's, it has to be on Mount Rushmore." -Pat Putnam.
Im a Toney fan, but have a hard time seeing this as a fight that will appeal to many. To be honest Im a little scared by Toney. He hasnt fought in an age!! And he probably hasnt been on a diet.
Its a shame because his spell at heavyweight could have been very, very good. He completely lost it with the weight though. He should have been 220 and beaten Rahman first time out.
Well, what can you do. You cannot train for them.![]()
I respect the fact that you're a Toney fan. I admired him when he started out as middleweight, but by the time he had bloated up to heavyweight, and given his "off-ring" personality (which I really don't like), I was totally put off by the man. And since I've always been against this circus we today call "the heavyweight division", I could care less whether Toney ever fights again.
Thats fair enough. He hasnt presented himself as one that you can feel all that sympathetic about. I am curious about Toney though...it could be a disaster but I do kind of want to see him fight. Im not all that hopeful though. He's been linked to a number of fights and nothing has happened at all....could be the end of Toney.

It wouldnt surprise me if Toney gets stopped at this stage of his career but I dont think Rahman is the guy to do it . Infact I'd still give Toney the edge in the inside fighting . He's leagues above Rahman up close but at this age and in the condition he is in he wont be able to fight his fight and will come off second best
Rahman wins this by keeping Toney at range forcing him back . Take center ring and working behind his jab . When hes up close he'll club away with 1 arm whilst the other arm is wrapped round Toney until the ref splits them up . Boring fight . Wont catch fire but Rahman will do enough . . . just
Didn't even see Toney's last fight, don't want to.
As a huge fan he just needs to quit. How long has he been slurring his words for now? 4 or 5 years? He's not Chris Byrd shot but he definitely is way past it.
Being a Toney fan since his middleweight days I really want Toney to succeed, but at this stage in his career I'm not to hopefull either.
I was in the Dan Rafael chat on espn on Friday and Dan actually said he was talking to James a week ago at some event and said James looked like he was in pretty good shape.
This appears set now
an article on another site has Goosen saying its a done deal, they just have to work out television. Not sure who'd cover it, maybe FSN.
Toney needs to hang them up, Hasbeen aint much better.
What happened to Hasim fighting Haye?
Rahman/Toney; how excitingThey'll be eating in between rounds
