Taylor robbed against Pavlik ?? lol good one bro you surely must be kidding with that comment ?? Taylor landed less punches in the rematch than he did in the first fight which only went 7 rounds. But forgetting that Taylor only fought in spurts which is fine in some cases but not in this case when Pavlik is working entire 3 minutes of the round landing solid punches. Pavlik clearly won the last 2 rounds which erased any doubt in my mind, i'll admit it was close after 10 rounds but after that Pavlik clearly won last 2 rounds to pull out the victory 7-5 on my card, which means by your scoring you had Taylor ahead by at least 3 rounds or more after 10 rounds what the hell ??

I don't think Taylor got robbed, but I do think a case could be made for him winning the fight. I've only seen the fight once, but I remember Taylor landing the cleaner, harder punches and Pavlik looking very sloppy and missing with most of his shots. I thought that Taylor's aggression was much more effective, aside from that body shot in the 11th, I don't recall Pavlik landing anything that was really significant.

I don't think Taylor landed the harder shots i think he landed the cleaner more flashier punches but i thought, overall Pavlik landed the harder shots and he was more consistent. It may of not been as pretty as Taylor's combinations, but it was getting the job done and Pavlik was working 3 minutes of every round, i can see a case for Taylor winning but IMO. I think any doubt should have been erased in the last 2 rounds.

To be fair there are a lot of guys for whom it would be a lot more ridiculous to call mechanical than Kelly. Not sure that sentence made sense. Either way.

I agree with the "mechanical" statement 100%

    jab,jab,right. jab,jab,right.

Pavlik is just one of Wladimir Klitschko's animated turds.

I don't dislike Pavlik at all, I'm a fan actually but he is a bit mechanical/predictable.

    He beat Taylor though

Taylor fought a great fight but just got out boxed. Something they said Kelly couldn't do. As far as Enzio, Pavlik and his team can walk the walk. Lowe is as firey as they come and believes in & looks at Kelly almost like a son. He doesn't respect Lockett as a fighter but does as a person. The more noise he makes outside the ring the more Pavlik can focus inside the ring. Jack is playing the game just hoping & trying to piss Enzio off enough to lure his son into a mega fight.

To me it just sounds like any other trainer in the build up to a fight. After all, as some other guy mentioned, they're not training to see if they can survive the first half of the fight, in his head, I'm sure Enzo thinks Lockett has a chance. He'll have put a plan in place, and think it'll work, but I think he's going to be looking for miracles for Lockett to win.

I wonder what the odds are of Pavlik breaking both hands in the same fight?

anyone who knows enzo knows he's full of praise for himself........ he's got this thing were he thinks he's the best......... you just have to watch him on the pads with his son and you'll see he truley beleaves its all about him..... the way he was going on in the corner in the hopkins fight was embaracing, you feel he was trying to showcase himself in vegas as a true boxing brain at work........... he's real arrogant and to many people unbearable now

i hope lockett does well, but with enzo singing in his ear i feel once theres a big wave hes goner sink............ still would be great to see him win

"Jack Loew, trainer of WBC/WBO middleweight champ Kelly Pavlik is challenging trainer Enzo Calzaghe to put his money where his mouth is. Loew says if Enzo is so confident about Gary Lockett being able to beat Pavlik on June 7 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, he should follow through with placing a wager on the fight. In their recent war of words, Enzo told Loew “If he’s so confident in his fighter, then why doesn’t he put his house on Pavlik winning?" Now Loew is ready to take him to task by accepting the offer.
“Whatever he wants to bet on the Lockett fight, I will bet him,” Loew told The Vindicator. “Anything. It’s legal in Atlantic City. I want his money.”
The bad blood began when Loew took a triple-shot when making a comment about Enzo's training of Lockett.
“Maybe Enzo can teach Lockett to slap like a girl — just like Joe (Calzaghe),” Lockett said.
Enzo came out swinging with a press release in response.
“I had to go on the Internet because I’d never even heard of this person Jack Loew,” Enzo said. “And all I found was that he paves driveways. Well, once Lockett has dealt with Pavlik and Loew is out of boxing then at least he can go back to paving driveways. I’ve got no one to answer to. I’ve trained four world champions, I’ve got other champions in my gym. I won trainer of the year in America for 2007.”
Loew told the Vindicator that the only reason anyone has heard of Enzo is because of his son, WBC/WBO/WBA super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe. He is not impressed with Enzo's other fighters.
“His last champ, Enzo Maccarinelli, was knocked out by David Haye,” Loew said. “Gavin Rees lost his welterweight title when he was knocked out in the 12th round. What the [heck] is he talking about?”
Loew is not impressed with his son, Joe Calzaghe, either. He very open to matching Pavlik against Joe Calzaghe in the near future.
“He’s knocked out 32 opponents, but 32 what, though?” Loew said. “The only thing he’s done is expose Jeff Lacy, which would have happened anyway. As far as Bernard Hopkins, he was a 43-year-old man. This guy is attacking me and he’s got nothing on his plate. If Manny Steward did it, it’s different. He’s trained 100 world champions. This guy has three and two just got knocked out. We’re willing to move up to super middleweight. It might be next year, it might be in October. Who knows? It might be our next fight. We’re open to anything."

Honestly, this is a good matchup... Kelly has a naturally big frame... Wonder what 8lbs would do to his output, though. Anyhow, If Pavlic can keep the output and stamina up this would be Joe's toughest test to date IMO... Enzo won't bet Leow a dime cuz the fight's already lost.

    Keep talking Enzo...

Be careful what you wish for... You just might get it... and IT just may be a right hand a tad harder then the one that knocked your son on his ass against Hopkins.

Pavlik is skinny so 8lbs shouldn't effect him in fact he might be even stronger with a little extra weight.
