Honestly, this is a good matchup... Kelly has a naturally big frame... Wonder what 8lbs would do to his output, though. Anyhow, If Pavlic can keep the output and stamina up this would be Joe's toughest test to date IMO... Enzo won't bet Leow a dime cuz the fight's already lost.

    Keep talking Enzo...

Be careful what you wish for... You just might get it... and IT just may be a right hand a tad harder then the one that knocked your son on his ass against Hopkins.

Pavlik is skinny so 8lbs shouldn't effect him in fact he might be even stronger with a little extra weight.

As true as that may be, it's not always the case... I was a skinny 152lb amatuer but when I moved up only a few ponds I was unable to do the same things I was used to... I lost a noticable amount of speed with only about 5 lbs added on...

Although it is a really mouthwatering matchup, and would be great if they can get it agreed, I really don't think Calzaghe's gonna go in there in fight Pavlik when he can just earn the same or more money fighting the aged Roy Jones Jr, and unlike single malt, RJJ ain't got better with age. If he does get in the ring with Kelly, and makes the fight at SMW with his unified titles on the line as well, it would be a very ballsy move, but I'm not convinced he's got the motivation to do it.

Loew knocks Enzio out with 1 punch. Jack can swing, Kelly doesn't even want to get hit by Jack

Pavlik would be Joe's demise. I can't believe people are saying that Joe would have no problem with Pavlik!!! That is just absolute crazy talk! I'm starting to really dislike Joe and to this day don't find him that impressive. Him wanting to fight Roy Jones Jr. just adds fuel to the fire. Stop fighting people who aren't ready or are too far from their peak. PAVLIK is the real deal.

So what if Joe's getting old! It's not about the age, it's the mileage and Joe's milage isn't exactly in a bad spot.

IIRC, the Taylor rematch was at 166, it was the 1st time Pavlik went 12 rounds and he beat JT by outworking him the entire time, particularly in the last 2-3 rounds, so I don't think 2 more pound will affect his output that much. I might get ripped for this, but in some ways, it reminded me of the JC-Hopkins fight in that one fighter was landing the more eye-catching blows while the other one relied on consistent work to win the fight.

Yea, Bernard landing the more eye-catching blows while Calzaghe won with the more consistent work. Pavlik's workrate impresses me FAR MORE than Joe's. Joe throws a thousand slaps a fight as compared to Pavlik's slightly lower in number BUT actual PUNCH count.

Yes i did actually compare Taylor vs Pavlik 2 to Calzaghe vs Hopkins, but the difference is Calzaghe hardly landed a damaging blow on Hopkins IMO. Most of his punches were arm punching flurries/slaps. Where as Pavlik was landing solid left jabs/right hands.
