He may get past Paulie but there's no way he beats a guy like Ricardo Torres who has fast hands and throws nice combinations on stationary targets with murderous intent as evidenced by hi fight with Cotto.

Any fighter could get seriously hurt.
I don't see anything in Ricky Hatton to suggest that he's more likely to get hurt than any other fighter.
He pretty much brutalised Juan Lazcano who isn't that far behind the other titlists at 140.
I see what you're saying but i highly doubt Colin Hart wrote that article because he cares so much for Ricky Hatton.
I don't want Ricky to retire now. I get entertainment from watching him fight - win or lose i'm not bothered.
But someone that has seen 40 years of faded fighters going on too long with some suffering dire consequences, it's understandable why they would.
Is it not?
I think Claude Abrams would make a good presenter. In place of Steve Bunce.
The article was complete shit. To imply that Hatton is no more the fighter he was 3 years ago is just wrong. Ricky is still every bit as good as he was 3 or 4 years ago it's just his opposition has improved.
The Kosta Tyzsu that he beat was the one who was washed up, inactive, coming to the end of his career, a string of injuries and he didn't really want it. He gave up, quit on his stool, hardly the mark of a man at the peak of his powers. He was no longer hungry and so quit when it got tough, no disrespect to him but anyone who thinks Hatton really beat the real Kosta Tyszu is just deluded.
Take that win away and Hatton has struggled against everyone.
Eamonn Magee floored him and took him to 12 tough rounds. He plodded out a win over Ben Tackie. John Thaxton completely busted his face up in another hard fought win. That fight could conceivably have been stopped.
He got cut and looked shit against Carlos Maussa, a fighter other prospects since have just blown away. He got wobbled by Urango, almost ktfo by Collazo.
Kosta aside, where are these dominant world class performances against top opposition that people hearken back to?
He's just a decent hardworking fighter who got lucky in fighting a great champion at the right time.
His win over Tyszu is about as significant as Leon Spink's over Ali or John Ruiz's over Hoylfield.
Please let's not be negative about Hatton and suggest he has declined and should retire. Just accept that in hindsight he was never that good to begin with.![]()
But hatton hasnt faded
where are all you lot getting this from, hatton fought just as well on saturday as he did against maussa, urango and castillo.
were any of you lot calling for his head when collazo almost knocked him out or when magee almost out pointed him
of course you werent
you see 1 defeat
a guy about to turn 30
12 brutal rounds of boxing
and all of a sudden ricky is washed up.
Hatton fought the fight of his life 3 years back against tszyu, since then though he has been in wars with fighters just as supposedly "average" as your juan lazcanos and made a far worst job of it.
words bangwagon and jumping come to mind!!!
If Hatton hasn't faded (clearly has) Bilbo must be right (he's not) Hatton was always SHIT!!!
