Help me out here when Kimbo was in the guillotine... did he tap or was he just doing a thumbs up? Cause I could swear it looked like he tapped on Thompsons arm. I find it fishy they never bothered to replay that part. Also, the ref was too quick to stand them up at one point when Thompson had side control... not even 10 sec and ref stands them.... Those announcers tend to blow everything out of proportion... Comparinng Kimbo to De La Hoya made me laugh so hard I was about to get an asma attack. Thank god it wasn't Roegan lol.

So Kimbo beat Thompson. Big deal. Thompson is just a big ass freak with "an alien life form in his ear" rofl. The only thing that fight proved was that he had a tiny bit more gas then Alien life form... Which is quite bad.

You think Kimbo is a raw bare knuckle street fighter who got an opportunity. The majority of Pro boxers started when the were 10-13 years old, and most of those young kids dont make it out of the amatuers. Kimbo has no formal training except from Baz Rutten who is an MMA god and been training Kimbo for the past year, Kimbo is 34 years old for Chrise sakes not some 21 year old prospect who's prime is ahead of him..

The ones who say Kimbo should have rolled Thompson, I guess you closed your eyes through his 5 other textbook escapes, James had him in dominant position with his arms trapped, I trained MMA and martial arts for years, Side control while against the cage with your arms trapped is no mans land, you cant shrimp out of that.. James THE EXPERIENCED PRO,couldnt get any leverage on his G&P and was literally chopping kimbo tentatively and slowly with no force....

Kimbo had stamina issues no doubt but his ground technique was textbook for the amount of time he has been training... The difference is Kimbo is humble and dosent buy into his own hype, he knows what he is and is always the 1st to say he has a long way to go, and he has to keep training. he performed like any 2 fight rookie with a year under his belt would perform.

He wouldnt succeed at boxing. I dont think he cant fight for 6 8 10 rounds, and he has no footwork or real boxing technique

I didn't think Thompson was out of the fight honestly, he had looked similar to that earlier in the fight (except for the ear obviously) and then managed to take Kimbo down and hold him there. Kimbo won the first, Thompson won the second and while it obviously looked like Kimbo was on his way to winning the third he was gassed big time (really from the end of the first round on) and its not hard for me to imagine Thompson recovering enough to take him down and hold him there. Anyway doesn't really matter now.

And even if it wasn't corrupt people are still going to think its corrupt when you get a borderline stoppage like that because obviously sleazy Gary Shaw wants to protect his cash cow.

Anyway I thought the card was overall pretty good except for really the Kimbo fight. He's got a lot to learn (not to mention improve his stamina) and he's already 34.

Gus Johnson was great. He's my favorite announcer during the NCAA tournament and considering he doesn't have much experience calling MMA (I think) he did pretty good. Not to mention even though he works for CBS he called it like he saw it after the Kimbo fight.

Yea know, I'm def. not an MMA fan, but of course I'm going to watch it if there is nothing else on. That aside, I think they did a very good job of marketing it. Free and live on a major t.v. network. Those early fights were good to watch, but it was disappointing with the stoppage for the eye poke deal. That fight was going better IMO then any other. Was a very good match up.

I'm not familiar with the rules for stop, but it woul;d hgave been a travesty is the dude who poked the eye had won, because it was after 3 rounds. I mean, wouldn't that sort of rule actually encourage eye gouging?

Fact is Kimbo was suppose to win that! the whole event is to hype him up even more. Everybody but James was going to let it happen.

I give props more to James, just cause his ears pop doesn't mean the fight should be stop. Sure he was stunned at the end but he was also stunned numerous times before that and took the round afterwards.

I like Kimbo but thats the second time he wanted to quit and Yes J.T. i said he lack heart. at the second round he was done, he is hype up to be a beast but couldn't get james off him? get the fck out of here with that shyt. James is an easy guy to hit and james has be ktfo before by lesser hype guys, I really expected kimbo to knock him out but clearly. That fight was good but IMO thats not the kimbo they've been hyping up. And look at his interview, he is dead tired and just wanted to end the interview to rest.

I think they need to work on his stamina first before anything else. His going to end up quiting against another james who will take him into deep water. His actually lucky james stamina is awfull too.
