Check out the front rowers of a Rugby union team all of them have it big time, the reason why they tape their ears to their heads. But never actually known anyone who's had it.
Because MMA fighters mainly consist of grapplers and wrasslers not stand up fighters. And like i said, Cauliflower ear is mostly the mark of a wrestler. You get it in highschool wrestling by not wearing headgear like you're supposed to. Alot of wrestlers think its cool and wear it with pride. Kinda like a TKD wears his black belt with pride. I on the other hand always wore my headgear. I developed a small case of Cauli Ear and it scared the shit outta me.
Stand up fighters like boxers and kickboxers dont spend enough time bashing their ears against stuff to develop it.
So if you see a guy on the street with ears like that. I wouldnt want to engage in confrontation, because he probablly has the skillset to suplex you headfirst into the cement. Consider it a forewarning. lol.

Cauliflower ear is caused by the damage of the cartilage in the ear.
When the cartilage becomes damaged the blood vessels within bleed causing the fractures or hollows to solidify.
It doesn't hurt severly but it will be felt.
Cauliflower ear rarely occurs in boxing anymore as it really only occurs when theremis a lot of contact with heads grinding on one another or the ears are interfered with.

You can, but most referees call them, because shots to the ear result from hooks that are on the inside and threatening the rear of the head.
