Stallone is a soft rich man.
I've always wondered which exact punch it was shot in the movie...

He was in ICU for 9 days from what I've heard. Lungred was the hardest punching of all the actors he filmed with.

I'd say that although he was the hardest punching actor he was nothing in comparison to Morrisson and even Tarver.

Yeah, but by the time they filmed the last one no way was Stallone letting someone hit him for real. That house of cards would come tumbling right down. If Tarver hit him for real Stallone would need a colostomy bag. And the Morrison fight, if I'm not mistaken, was brief.

Hell no, Stallone wasn't taking any punishment from a real boxer!

During the filming of "Rocky Balboa" he collapsed on set whilst doing the excercises, he may have been built but he wasn't in any way fit.

I heard he was asked to spar SRL before the Contender II as a gimmick and he chose not to.

SRL would have made him look very sloppy. As sloppy as Hector Camacho made him look.

Hmmm... I wonder why? Leonard still keeps extremely fit. This is the reason he was able to make those comeback fights... A sparing session with Stalone would take Rocky's PR people ten years to clean up and by then he'll be 70

Leonard's walking around below 160 and in the gym regularly.

not pumping weights like Stallone, he's hitting the bag and going through the motions still. He'd give any new up and comer problems!!!!

Unless that up-and-comer throws haymakers from his hip I doubt it. SRL may be in good shape, but he has 0 reflexes. And where would he run from the pain?

It was probably easier during the Tommy Gunn fight because they had clothes on. He could have worn protection, especially under that jacket.

One thing you have to remember though about IV. Because of the idea that Drago was super human, Stallone wanted to make the fight scenes more realistic and he actually wanted to be hit hard to make it more realistic. All the guys could probably hit relatively well, but if Stallone was telling Lundgren specifically to hit him harder, there you go.

It really should have been written more like Rocky III, where he's dodging most of the punches.

If there were a boxer that could really hit as Drago was supposed to (2150 psi. punch), there's no way in hell fire anybody could have taken that many shot like Rocky did. Just look at how long it (didn't) take for Drago to kill Apollo, although Apollo took the fight too lightly.

Maybe Rocky had a thicker skull than Apollo. At any rate, Rocky did have some longterm damage. I remember in the beginning of V how he was shaking like a baby in the hands of a British Au pair.

In Rocky 5, he had that special kind of brain damage which makes you hear loud noises and see flash backs of getting knocked out. Luckily it went away before Rocky 6.

As I understand it, Rocky V didn't happen I remember him saying something on the special features where he said something like that.
