How long does Cotto have?

Cotto does not protect his chin. Every time Zab wanted it, he got it, with KO-worthy uppercuts. Cotto, fortunately or unfortunately, has an iron chin and just kept coming. Within 5 fights if Cotto keeps getting hit like that you will notice a distinct difference in his ring presence.

Judah is a fantastic boxer, I would hardly write off Cotto's defence as a result of a very sharp fast world class southpaw catching him.
I feel this is particularily true in light of Cotto's performances since Judah, he's been evasive and held his hands well in both Mosely and Gomez fights.

Tell me you weren't amazed that Cotto took those punches and kept coming. It wasn't one or two, there were several. I'm not writing off Cotto's defense, rather, Cotto's willingness to set defense aside to go after an opponent. He's a better boxer than he showed against Judah, but that was what was necessary to win. Anyone who gets in Judah's face and can take a punch will make him wilt and Cotto did that in spades.

I think that the reason Cotto neglected his defence and was caught was due to his being over zealous. He sprang from the corner looking for action early and got caught as a result.

One can note that as the fight wore on Cotto's defense was not frequently penetrated again.

As regards the punches he took.
He was shaken but kept his footing...
Was it that Cotto has a great chin and he stayed up
or

We're in agreement, I think. Those uppercuts were avoidable, but Cotto knew he needed to jump on Judah to break his spirit. As the fight wore on, as with any fight were Zab's on the losing end, he took his foot off the gas and Cotto kept doing what he was doing. Those punches never bothered Floyd because he NEVER neglects his defense and Baldomir is a robot. HE ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT STOP... UNTIL YOU ARE DEAD!

Think the torres fight definitively proved that miguel has a solid chin, torres was throwing 6-7-8 combos all which were landing and hurting though cotto simply walked through them in order to get his own off.

And torres isnt the only guy whos hit cotto hard before, mosley, judah heck even chop chop hit him well and every time cotto showed he has a very good chin.

I see cottos style and physique and cant help but think when the time will come for him to move up to 154 and make himself a 3 weight world champion.

Fight marg then go looking for floyd, if mayweather still doesnt wanna know then move up to 154 and fight vernon!!!

For most fans, the Torres fight is the fight that gives reason to question Cotto's chin he was down and rocked in that fight and with the Corley fight in the same time frame many questioned him.

At 147 though we've had no reason to question him.
