Yeah but Bush is an idiot
I'm in graduate school for history, mainly U.S. foreign policy, and I've been reading this book called The Hidden Hand Presidency about Eisenhower and how during his presidency people thought he was kind of out of it and just let his cabinet run everything and played golf all the time when it turned out that (whether you agreed with his policies or not) he was lucid and in control. I sometimes wonder if there will end up being a revisionist history like that about Bush, and we'll find out that he actually wasn't as stupid as he seems. I kind of doubt it.
Obama has no experience in foreign policy...McCain DOES!
Yes and he had the good judgment to support an obviously unnecessary war which obviously was going to do more to hurt the nation's interest than help it. Unlike the Democrats who supported the war because they were political cowards, McCain actually thought it was a good idea.
Which makes his self-congratulatory air about the surge seem a bit over the top.
McCain was calling for Rumsfeld's head loooong before Bush or anyone else was!
Just because Bush and the Neo-Cons screwed things up so bad doesn't mean McCain would have done the same thing. And just because Obama didn't vote for the war doesn't mean he did anything to try and stop it.

...The Democrats run Congress, they could have cut funding and ended the war HOWEVER they didn't...and WHY? To stick W with the "loss"...that's the REAL REASON they didn't vote to cut off funds.

Every time I post something that proves you wrong you just change the subject. And you're always still wrong when you do. Go look up when McCain actually criticised Rumsfeld for the first time versus when he claims he started criticising him. And stop changing the subject, or this is going to end up where you post a video of Rush Limbaugh singing Barack the Magic Negro again.
Is 2004 early enough for you
McCain, Schwarzkopf blast Rumsfeld - Conflict in Iraq - MSNBC.com
Oh my God...MSNBC too...please tell me they are "in the bag" for the Republicans.
A Clinton bringing honor to the White House...funny. And it's spelled HONOR...but then again I wouldn't expect you to know how to spell that one.....AWWWWWW SNAP....hahaha, totally kidding KL

....look at the Middle East and thank Ike for buying into the idea that putting the Shah of Iran in power was a good idea.

I usually refrain from it, but it's a Youtube video I have to post just because Lyle has pulled a bunch from his catalog.

I can find any number of Obama slip ups on youtube...McCain knows we have 50 states, how about that? Does Obama? McCain gave Obama an out and said "just don't vote for funding if you disagree with the war" and Obama voted FOR funding...and McCain has been several times to Iraq and has seen what's going on first hand....he might not relay the message clearly all the time but he still knows better than Obama.
Obama has had every opportunity to actually head a movement to end the war and he has not done it.

This from someone who supports the Republican ethos.
Pretty much every American President from the Civil War onwards has meddled in the affairs of other sovereign nations. Not that it makes it right. So I assume by your comments about the Shah that you would rather Iran have been run by a ultra-nationalist, anti-imperialist (ie anti-American)?
Just because an Arab leader doesn't say or do the things you want don't mean they're irrational. I'm not by any means an expert on him but for King Hussein of Jordan to have survived as long as he did with all the problems he had to deal with, he must have been pretty rational. Even Ahmininejad (one of these days I'm gonna learn how to spell that) is just playing to the crowd, at least partly.
McCain has a boring problem. He's just flat out boring. I know that's not something that should make or break a candidacy, it should be about more important things, but it doesn't help. I just couldn't get through his whole speech last night, it was just dire. And this morning again, he's just boring. That monotone, the way he chooses his words, spit it out man and move on.
Hillary's speech last night was comic genius.
