I was very happy for him last night. It took some shine away when he started talking and the voice of a Saturday morning cartoon character came out. Still, I was clapping for the kid.

He did all the talking he needed to do with his right hand and his left.

That was brilliant, happiest I've been about a boxing match in a while.

I picked him all along but have to say part of that was me just wanting him to win, I thought he could do it but wasn't totally convinced, but all along I never bought into the idea that he was another Bautista.

Great stuff, he may be cracking my top ten favorite fighters.

What is about Puerto Rican fighters these days and that kind of little hop step thing they do as far as footwork goes? Anybody notice the way JuanMa moves is a little like Cotto? Hard to explain but that kind of hop step they do is similar.

I may not be making any sense

Yea. He does move like Cotto with the peek-a-boo style and footwork.

De Leon almost went down like Bautista did. De Leon did the "oh crap!" eye blinks too after the first knock down. They're just my observations.

Lopez was outstanding. I thought he was going to get smashed. Instead he did the smashing. The way he did it was impressive. Very calm and composed. And I give credit to Macho and Rican. They called it from the beginning.

I dont think he can be called a sensation just yet. Impressive he was, I really didnt expect him to get him out of there so quick. I thought it was bit too much of a step up for him. But that hes first decent fighter beaten. A wild swinger, in comparison with the other fighters at 122 isnt as well rounded as them. The road for him to being called a sensation has just started and dont get me wrong hes impressive, but a sensation isnt the word for him...yet. I look forward to seeing more from him, he would give problems to most fighters at 122.

Thanks for the shout out VD. For once I called a fight the right way!! Juanma did it so easily that it's scary!! I hope HBO/Showtime and the powers that be put this kid on tv more. I'm tired of having to travel to PR, or Mohegan Sun, or Chicago to watch this star!!

did extremely well against De Leon but don't think he should go after Marquez or Vazquez just yet, a bout against Jhonny Gonzalez would actually be pretty interesting
