I'd still don't see the Oscar-Hatton fight happening. I think Pacquiao-Hatton is a more realistic possibility.
If Oscar doesn't want to fight the Cotto-Margarito winner, then I think Vernon Forrest is a possibility.

I think ODH isn't concerned with money only legacy and only against a fighter he thinks he can beat. I'm a ODH fan but even I can agree that either Cotto or Margarito are a tough fight. Could he win sure would I put money on it..No He will fight someone who is perceived as a big fight but in reality will pose a minimum threat. Somone like Mayorga. Floyd was worth the risk. Hatton since being blasted by PBF doesn't do much for ODH's legacy. I'm not sure who he is going to fight but much like most of Oscar's recent fights it will be to maximize his legend and tilted in his favor.

Oscar should fight Sergio Mora.
Big NBC name vs Big HBO name.
Sergio is not perceived as a 'strong' champ, so I'd think Oscar would move to that position now. BUT Mora IS actually a very dangerous fight, kinda reminds me of an Oscar Sturm fight for some reason.
It's the fight that makes most sense... considering Mora doesn't have the power of Cotto or Margarito. And lets face it, Oscar can't drain himself as much these days, he has to fight at 'catch weights' these days. Why not just go back to 154 lbs.
I think Mora's the best fight out there for Oscar.
Try to get that WBC belt that was once his, as Sergio said.
Well now it would make sense to fight Sergio Mora since he just took Vernon Forrest's title. I can bet a million dollars this fight is gonna happen next.
De La Hoya fought Mayweather, who I couldn't really cheer for either one. I think this is about the same way if he fights Mora.

Los Angeles -- The boxing schedule can change at a moment's notice due to many factors. A fighter can get hurt. A manager or promoter might not like the proposed financial figures before a bout is finalized. Or the pound for pound king of the world could retire and his opponent, the most popular fig Read Full Story >>> Michael Marley’s Boxing Confidential – News, Analysis, and Commentary
I would want Quartey over Mora. But obviously Winky is the fight to get.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be a big fight or a mega media event. Depending on what Ricky does from here on out will greatly depend on how it effects ODHs legacy. All I'm saying is that with the onesided loss the PBF at this moment I don't think it fits Oscar's criteria. I didn't think of Mora but that does seem more like the kind of fight that Golden Boy would take at this point in his career. Is it a better fight than Hatton? No, but like I said Oscar is going to try to maximize the impact on his legacy RIGHT NOW. I think its either Mora or Winky.

Hopefully, Oscar will retire PERMANENTLY as a boxer and focus more on Golden Boy Promotions. Both NEED to be accomplished for the sake of boxing. As a boxer, Oscar has failed to thrill/impress in a long, long time. As a promoter, his stable has been very unsuccessful recently, with losses by Mosley (to Cotto), Hopkins (to Joe C), de Leon (to Lopez), Barrera (to Manny), and many others. Making money and not thrilling the fans is wearing thin on boxing fans (at least for me).
Hard to fault GBP for the losses. Those were all fights that the fans wanted to see with competitive matching. I'd say GBP is doing as good if not better than most promotions in putting together the fights fans want. Its on the both fighters to go out and give a good performance much less win.
