JC by unanimous decision
At 168 kessler is heavier handed than pavlik and JC managed to extinguish his threat early on.
I really dont buy into the whole pavlik phenomena, 2-3 decent wins dont make a great fighter.

Calzaghe would have to use his speed and movement to win a decision. Pavlik will be tough for Calzaghe as he has a great workrate like Joe, strong and a monster right hand and everyone knows joe has a weakness in blocking that shot. I can see Calzaghe going down once or twice if they fought.
Every big fight Joe is in people back against him say he will get ko'ed and so on.Ok Pavlik is a very big puncher but he can be outboxed like we saw in the second fight with Taylor.Taylor managed to go 12 rounds with Pavlik he got hurt but he got through to the end and Calzaghe has a granite chin at 168lb. I still have faith in Joe to win a UD.
LETS MAKE THIS FIGHT HAPPEN PLEASE!IT WOULD BE FUCKING AWESOME NO DOUGHT!Like "Youngblood" mentioned earlier "It would be a bloodbath"i think too!Make it Calzaghes lasting RETIRING fight and the fight would be a cracker!!!I mean Calzaghe will find it really tought with just by the danger of Pavliks reputation, but Calzaghe will want to prove again how good he is and put on a great display to end his career.Of course Pavliks hard as foook and will be there to dismantle Calzaghes undefeated record before the Welsh man retires.....Thats what's going to make this fight soo good.Mouth wateringCome on promoters make his fight happen. It would be one of if not The Best fight of the year.....it has the ingrediants!!!!

Pavlik is to predictable to beat Calzaghe.
If Joe was younger he'd smash him to bits. Seeing as he's an old man he'll have to settle for making Kelly look like a plodder.
Ya know, it certainly would make for good watching. If I was wrong about its outcome, I'd be the first to admit it plus I think it would be the ultimate exclamation mark on Joe's career. I just don't feel, and especially as Enzo was working the corner for Lockett, that he'd let the fight happen. Again, hope I am wrong.
As of right now, I'd pick Calzaghe to outbox Pavlik.
However, the longer this fight gets delayed, the more it would gradually go toward Pavlik. Not only is Calzaghe getting older, but the longer he's at 175, the harder it will be for him to get back down to 168 to fight Pavlik.
But if they were to fight this year, I'd make Calzaghe a favorite.
Alright they mate.Obviousley his father Enzo will know Calzaghe better than anyone!!And he knew how much a danger Lacy was before the fight started, but it still happened. And even known that Pavlik has really Awesome punch power,"Aswell as Lacy did"the fight would still be in the mind of Enzo as well as Calzaghes to be made. After all they both know that Calzaghe has nowhere near the punch power of the "GHOST"but has the great tallent to out box and out class a very powerful dangerous opponant like Pavlik(Lucy too)I think Calzaghe will make this fight whatever his dad thinks!Calzaghe will want to prove how great he is!!Even if he does get MASHED up be Awesome Pavlik, there's no shame in that whatsoever!!!And if he does win......then he would be a legend no dought!!!!!He'll take this fight on im 90% sure of it mate.Would be a great fight,,really good!

Been watching Joe since the aba's and have never backd against him, but I think at this stage in his career Pavlick stops him
Thats actually a very good point
Would enzo have it in him to put joe in the ring with pavlik especially after he has seen what pavlik can do to an opponent.
Enzo is no doubt a father before he is a trainer - could he really stomach the idea of seeing joe take the beating lockett just took![]()
lol
Some of you guys should listen to Enzo. He's a fucking loony, and fearless to boot
Was actually pleasently surprised with the compassion he showed for gary on saturday.
With it not being a brutal knockdown i suspect a lot of trainers would of allowed their fighter to go on but enzo realising his man had taken enough of a beating rightfully waved it off
