I have a portion of my family that is very wealthy... Something that has to do with the Verville (my last name) Sperry that was used as a US Airforce training plane a long time ago... 40s I think... and also the R-1

Anyhow, they all have this huge sense of entitlement... Like everyone owes them something.

I was taught you need to work for anything.. And I mean anything you want...

Don't be bitter TM. Loads of money allows you to get by without much personality if you want to. I think that is pretty cool.....

In all honesty I got to do alot more that way, because I had the stones to do it.
My Grandfather kind of instilled in me the idea of "Life doesnt have to be perfect, but make sure you leave a mythic story behind you"

My father used to say that being a good person is your legacy... When you leave this place you're judged by the people that you kept close to you and those people indicate they type of life you led... If you're a good person you'll be surounded by good people that preach your praises after you're gone...

Sounds like you guys were brought up about the same way I was. We were always broke as hell! I think that's the main thing that shaped me - learning how to spit in the face of adversity

A guy I play in a band with has a great saying - "Money can't buy you happiness, but you can sure as hell pick your misery." I'm still hoping to learn about that one day.

As for rich people, do any of you know a rich family with rebellious kids? One of my friends from back in the day has a superrich family, and he ended up living in a tent for a long time. He's as cool a person as you'd want to meet, except for being a bit out there. But I agree - a lot of people brought up with money are generally pretty weak.

Yeah... It's not the rule of course but someone that went through their entire childhood privleged... It's a safe bet they're not the most interesting people...

Of coures this is sheer gerneralization and pretty unfair but I can only tell you what I've witnessed and it hasn't been good.

Bra,nothing, and I do mean nothing, will make a Strip Steak tastier to you as an adult then having to call goverment corn meal mush dinner when your a kid.
I think middle class is probably better overall, but I think I got to do things because I had that drive of,"I may be poor as dirt right now,but Im going to stick it somewhere and twist one day"
