When he first went down I thought it was a headbutt, because the hook was so compact I couldn't see it from that angle. PDL gave a hell of a try to recover but JML wouldn't let him get a breath.

Why, oh why, is that about the third or fourth time I've read this...... In a rematch Ponce gets Ko'ed again, and again, and again. He isn't in the same class as Lopez, and all it took was a round to prove that. What exactly would he do in a rematch that would make him more succesful. He only fights one way, Lopez sat back, circled him, took a couple grazing blows, was pushed backwards, made the adjustement, tightened up his punches on the inside and timed Ponce. Would happen EVERY time they fight at some point. Lopez is just too quick and schooled, he can easily get 3 clean, short shots off in the time it takes Ponce to throw 2 wide shots.

The answer as to why PDL got KO'd in one is simple. Lopez is more then 1 class above PDL. To those who say he will get KO'd in the rematch, just don't know what to say. De Leon's only shot was to land a bomb and that's just not going to happen to Lopez. Lopez is so good it's scary. The comparisions to Bautista were ridiculous before and even more ridiculous now.

Maybe people hadn't seen enough JML but he's one of the most well developed prospects I've ever seen. Really could not have a higher opinion of the guy and then for him to go and KO PDL in a round no less, I don't see how anyone could draw from that that PDL would win a rematch.

That short right by Juanma is his trademark. I've seen many get that same silly feeling Ponce got. What was impressive was how Juanma baited him into it with a feint, a left, step in, then the short right before Ponce could connect. He never saw it coming.
