The other night I was trying to convince my girlfriend that they should allow boxing in the special Olympics. Maybe Zelenoff could represent his country.

Ahahahaha; I wish they would allow bobsledding in the "special" games. How fun would that be?? Great mental picture I know that is cruel. The guy who made the S.O. games was a twisted dude. I want to apply to be athletic director for the games; what a job.

I feel neg rep coming soon for this post

How about fencing or ski-jumping? That's be an accident waiting to happen.

I'll say something much worse to divert the neg rep my way. I got really high once and started talking about how cool it would be to pay homeless people to come to an island, and when they got there to force them re-enact famous historical battles with authentic weapons. Winners get to go home.

Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't actually do it and I don't think it would be cool, but you should seen the looks I got.

You're more twisted than me; THAT is sad F#cking ski jumping!!! What a mess that would be. I can't stop laughing. Pairs figure skating would be quite enjoyable as well. Archery

Maybe we should get some cash together and televise our own Special Olympics... I bet we'd make a killing if we didn't get charged with crimes against humanity.

    Some more:

Hallelujah - Rufus Wainwright and Jeff Buckley, both better than the original IMO (Leonard Cohen)

Chris Cornell - Billie Jean (yes, Billie Jean. Originally by Michael Jackson)

Landslide - Smashing Pumpkins (Fleetwood Mac)

I Don't Wanna Grow Up - The Ramones (Tom Waits)

Helter Skelter - U2 (Beatles) - most will probably disagree, but I love U2's version.

Maggie's Farm - Rage Against the Machine (Dylan)

    More to come...

Wrong about Billie Jean, Helter Skelter, and Landslide. Right about the others.

    More for the list:

Gram Parsons/Emmylou Harris - Love Hurts (best version, ever)
    Johnny Cash - Cocaine Blues

More when they come to me.

While the Emmylou harris./Parsons Love Hurts is very good. Nazareth version is quite good as well. I wouldn;t say its better, but I would say Emmylou Harris is probably my favourite female singers and one of the best rock out concerts you can go to.

Yeah, the Nazareth version is good, but the Gram/Emmylou version is magic. Also, try finding a copy of Return of the Grievous Angel with Ryan Adams and Emmylou. That might be better than the version with Gram. I'll rep you after I spread some for knowing that version with Gram and Emmy.

I'm with Collins and JT on Watchtower. That belongs on any list of great covers or covers that equal or surpass the original.

I think the Nazareth version is much better...

Personal preference, I guess, but the Gram/Emmy version has those harmonies and that tasty baseline. And it's not a metal power-ballad
