I went to another gym this evening because my coach is out of town for a couple of weeks.

We worked on some new tools on the mitts and sparred 7 rounds.
Even though I train a lot, the sparring I get really sucks and it shows. It's hard to practice the skills you have with people who aren't close to you level. In a lot of ways I think it's worse than not sparring at all.
I'm hoping to get back up there a few more times in the next two weeks. The sparring is a good as I could ask for, really challenging and I get a lot of feedback on stuff I need to work on.

Ok, heading to the gym now. I'm going to work on my footwork, which is in need of some major work right now. I have a bad habit of standing there and slugging.
Since I'm on my own I think I'll just work on some shadowboxing and plyometric stuff for my footwork.

Well I tend to get really flat footed and not move laterally very much. So I'm doing a lot of moving around quickly and changing directions, pivots. As fast as I can. I'm not necessarily throwing any punches just in my stance and visualizing my opponent and trying to get angles, or cut off the ring.

I'm the exact opposite. I tend to bounce around too much. As a result sometimes my feet end up close together, and that isa recipe for disaster.

Crap! I just discovered the arcade section of this forum. This could impede my progress.
