Joe Calzaghe is the best p4p fighter at the moment but there could be some interesting developments if as he says his next fight is his last

Pav looks on the up, Cotto is too and maybe Juanma may become a superstar in years to come. Oscar may have a final assult on the p4p ratings too if Hatton changes his mind and fights him .

    Why's that?

Hes beaten every guy he has ever fought . Hes been winning at world class for over a decade. He has beaten unbeaten champions and American legends.

Who else can match that record? Theres some decent up and comers but nobody whos reallt that proven. Cotto and Pav may be a threat in years to come but right now I cant see anyone who can tough Joe p4p .

Well, Sven Ottke must be 1 or 2 spots behind him then. Cuz he defended his title more than Calz did.

Since we're already in this silly conversation, why don't we throw in Chris John! he is undefeated and defended his title and beat JMM...shouldnt that 1 win against a legend already make him p4p king?

Thats funny cause thats all Calzaghe has is a win against a faded legend who is in his mid 40s!.. Not late 20s,.. but mid 40s.

I think Pac's record matches and easily surpassed Calzaghe's.

Pacs been knocked out too many times by bums and his recent fights have been unimpressive

Marquez is another who has had close fights recently and it wasnt long ago Chris was beating him

who else ? Hopkins is getting on now. Vasquez was stopped aswel not too long ago so I cant see anyone who can match Joe or who is more deserving .

Pac hasn't been KO'd since he moved up in weight, which played a huge role in him being stopped. The only other fighter he has lost to is an ATG in Morales. He's drawn with and beat JMM, another P4P fighter, beaten Barrera, and he's sought the highest level of competition for the last several years. The same cannot be said about Calzaghe. I assume Hopkins is the American legend you referred to on Calzaghe's record, but like you said he's old and well past his prime. Aside from old B-Hop, Lacy, Eubanks, and Kessler are the best names on Calzaghe's record, all quality fighters for sure, but they pale in comparison to Barrera, Morales, and Marquez.

Lol! I don't think you understand the term "pound-for-pound".

If Calzaghe was the same size with Pacquiao and they fight, who do you think will win?

    Damn right CHF!

We're talking about Pac beating 3 future HOFers (3 KOs - 11 KDs combined) and Calzaghe only beating 1 mid 40s future HOFer. Heck, even old B-hop managed to floor Joe.

This is more about GAME's dislike for Pac rather than his belief of Calzaghe. When someone can't respect someone who's done something that ALMOST MOST boxers can't say as in beating 3 future HOFers, winning titles in 3 weight divisions (going for 4), and the balls to say he wants to fight the best man two weight classes above him.

    That's just ridiculous!

I hate Joe's way of fighting but I still respect him as a fighter.

Manny defeated Marco, Erik, and Juan while they were in top 10 p4p.

If Calzaghe and Pacquiao were the same size, Pacquiao would DESTROY HIM! Like I say with Pavlik, Joe fighting someone who throws as many punches as he does, but the difference being Pav and Pac have power.

Defo Calzaghe . No Doubt . If Singusgat and Torencampo knocked Pac spark out , Imagine what Joe would do .

I don't know if Game dislikes Pac, I haven't seen any evidence of that. He's just stating why he think Calzaghe deserves to be higher on the P4P list, an opinion many people hold. I happen to think Pac should be higher, but a decent argument can be made for Calzaghe. I actually have Calzaghe behind both J.M. Marquez and Vazquez on my P4P list, but that's a controversial position.

    Fixed!

    I had to add it.
