Yeah it would indeed.
Man, if the US is too expensive I'd greatly consider it.
I'm on work expierience now and would love a week to chill out.
I just want to get on some big roads and drive through places I don't now.
I was thinking Fort Myers to Tallahasse and maybe Pensacola, but who knows Canada is cool too.
This might sound dumb/childish....but is it snowy in those parts of Canada around September?

2nd vote for Detroit/Windsor. I'm on the US side- we have 3 sport arenas in the city (the Pistons are in Auburn Hills), 3 casinos and plenty of stuff up-and-coming in the summer. You could just hop on the bridge or tunnel to Windsor and it's just as great over there. So you'd be getting 2 for 1 sort of.
What the hell is a hilux?
I drive a Pontiac Grand Am and with prices what they are currently it's about $60-$70/wk to fuel up. There's an Enterprise Rent-a-Car near me I had to use when my car was in a body shop. My insurance covered it, but it was about $30/day to rent. I had a Dodge Caliber, sans options, but it was a nice drive.
Florida isn't the best place to go in the US. I have family down there so I have go about once a year, and I find it very lame. Unless you want beaches and theme parks, avoid it. If you want beaches in Florida, the gulf coast is much better. The place is full of old people and tourists and the landscape is as boring as it gets. If you want to drive some great highway, try driving through the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western Virginia and North Carolina. Stop in and say "hi" to Lyle. If you want a more interesting trip, go to Boston, New York, Philly, or DC. A good idea would be to fly into Boston or New York, make your way down to Washinton DC and rent a car. From DC, you can head out to some really beautiful country in the south. Virginia and North Carolina are both fantastic places, and that's coming from a born and bred New Englander.
Gas is about $4.00/gallon, if you are under 25, car rental will be more expensive. A week's rental will run about $300. In major cities, lodging is a bit more - expect to play at least $100/night for basic places. The posh places will run at least $200. Down south, away from cities, you probably get rooms for about $50.
If you decide to go to Mexico, I can't recommend Playa del Carmen enough. It's one of my favorite places anywhere. You will fly into Cancun, but avoid the city and go right to Playa.
If you change your mind about going south and end up in Boston, let me know.
Hey Rozzy thanks for the advice.
I've got some family in Tallahasse, so I was thinking of staying there. I'd save money on accomodation and I'd be living it up like 5 stars!
Also, I'm just looking to relax, I want a pure chill out holiday.
Are you certain at 20 I can get a car? Because I can't seem to find anything to rent because of my age!
Mexico's my dream holiday and I'll be heading for the big 7 right after I finish that higher degree
I dunno, flight prices are crippling me, but I'll consider anywhere!

I live right outside of Tampa Florida and love it man, I"m originally from NY and couldn't be happier down here. I live about 5 minutes from the beach which is also great. There is allot of things to do down here man, plus the night life in Tampa is off the chain and the most of the woman are hot.
My girlfriend actually went to college at FSU which is in Tallahassee so I have been up there a few times. To me there really isn't to much to do up there exept drink and go to football games during the fall. The best beach closest to Tallahassee is Destin which I think is about an hour and half but the beach is really nice pure white sands plus its a tourist area so there is tons to do. The fishing in Destin is real good also.
Jacksonville is only about 2 hours from Tallahassee and I have always had fun there also. Let me know if there is any questions you have and I'll do my best to answer them.
