He obviously wants one last big payday and he wants to retire undefeated. Can't blame him really.

I think he'd beat Pavlik but he probably think's he can beat Jones easier and get paid more for doing it.

I'd love to see Jones turn back the years and put on a show though.

    Exactly

Jones will mean a bigger payday for an easier nights work and will gain JC that 1 vital big name he needs on his CV to acheive greatness.

I would be surprised to see RJJ get anything from that eventual fight as the trinidad fight clearly showed his best days are long gone.

But fighting infront of 50,000+ can do strange things and who`s to say jones jr wont turn the clocks back 5 years and give us another vintage performance.

This is controversial, particularly if one remebers that Calzaghe claimed Steve Collins ducked him at the end of his career.

If JC was to claim he was no longer able to make 168 then of course this fight would have to be completely thrown out of the window.

Know i`ll get bashed for this but kelly does seem like the kind of guy who could struggle at 168.

The logistics are far more complexed and he`s all out aggression would have to be replaced by a more settled approach whereby he has to think before he throws his punches.

JCs knockdown to bhop was a flash knockdown that never had calzaghe in any danger, Taylor genuinely hurt pavlik in that 1st fight and missed a golden opportunity to have pavlik out of there.

Had he of done so there would of been no calls for a rematch after a 2nd round KO and pavlik would now be in the wastelands of the division scrapping against average fighters for little money.

Me too. One last inspired performance from Jones. How funny would that be? Not so much because I dislike Joe, but because I liked Jones so much back in the day; and Enzo is a muppet.

Okay, I`m starting to dislike Joe. Just admit you don't want the fight and go on about your business. Say you think RJJ is a better fight for you, and I'll agree. Tryin to say it is because Pavlik isn't ready for him and he is so much better?..blah blah fookin blah.

okay joe. I shall respond with..WHATEVER YOU GIANT PUSSY.

    Bawk. Bawk. Bawk.

I generally feel like acting more respectful, but he just doesn't deserve it with these sort of remarks.

That's a shame - Calzaghe/Pavlik would have been an interesting fight.

I can't say I wouldn't be surprised if Roy won, but I don't think it'll be as easy as Joe thinks.

I agree, with as easily as Hopkins was able to connect on Joe, Jones will be able to do that only more often and with more power. I am really rooting for RJJ in this one, if Calzaghe loses then maybe he'll fight Pavlik.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Don't you guys all think RJJ is shot or way past it ?? I mean all he done was beat Tito (Who was shot) and yet everybody is commending him and thinks he could beat Calzaghe.

Yeah this is dissapointing (as a calzaghe fan) I can understand he wants that one big last payday and also would want to end his career in wales rather than vegas but coming out saying pavlik doesn't want to fight him I thinks off the mark. You can understand his reasoning its just a shame for boxing wouldv'e been a great match.

He says in the article about maybe a fight in future, but who seriously expects him to fight on past the end of the year?

To me it sounds like his desire has gone and he just wants one last payday, and that all important big name on his resume!

I like Calzaghe, and was believing he's starting to do what he should of many years ago and take on the best over in the States. But this seems like the easier option.

I understand his reasoning. He'll get more money and not get his face mashed in in the process.

If Hopkins could catch Joe in the first round with a right hand and drop him Pavlik would find right hand after right hand and destroy him.Don't be surprised if Jones beats him.

Who has Hopkins NOT caught with his right hand? It's his best punch. Now Joe suddenly has a weakness for right hands? Your talking rubbish
