How anyone can make a case for a fighter to be among the all time greats when his 3 biggest wins are a 35 year old Oscar, a one dimensional and undersized Hatton, and a shot/punching bag in Gatti...is beyond me. There is no arguing that those three fighters are the BIGGEST names on his resume. Sure, he fought some good competition earlier in his career...but in recent years he has handpicked some real average foes. He gets some props for going up in weight to fight Oscar...but that fight cannot be called a career defining fight. I think it's a combination of Floyd not being in a particularly strong era for fighters in his weight classes (this aint no days of Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Leonard) and also him handpicking less than spectacular opponents. It doesn't help that you always get the sense that Floyd fights more for money and publicity rather than personal challenges and a legacy. Sure, no one can question his incredible skill. But that is not enough to be mentioned among the truly all time greats.
