    LOL, what a joke.

A younger De La Hoya would have killed him in imo.

ODLH WAS in his prime, but for PPV buys not skill.

floyd fought plenty of guys in their prime, roger is just dumb for mentioning the three guys that he did..

any fighter can be criticized of who they fight, and we've heard every excuse, from he was past it, he had a broken hand, he had the flu, his dog died during training camp.. Floyd has a great resume, and in my opinion the only guy left that i want to see him fight, is Cotto.. but can i say that floyd is less of a great fighter because he didn't fight Cotto? No i can't, he's an incredible fighter, but i would just like to see this fight happen to silence all the critics.. as many others would..

Now I've read the thing through twice, and I still cannot see Roger mentioning these people. It is Danny, not Roger singling them out.

And as a lot of people have mentioned, it makes no sense to complain that Gatti and Baldomir were over the hill when Floyd fought them, as they were never really any better in the first place. When was Baldomir's prime, if not for the period after beating Judah?

    [Roger is still delusional though]

    Good point.

    Totally agree.

This is selective reasoning here. Roger aint stupid enough (believe it or not) to say that Gatti, Baldo, & Oscar were prime. Floyd totally annihilated many prime fighters who were @ the top of the divisions while Floyd was coming up.

    Also...Floyd did'nt duck Cotto.

Cotto never made a challenge. NEVER.

That's old news though...just like it's old news that Cotto was ringside for the Brusseles fight to get a bird's eye view of Mayweather & after the performance...the one that ended with a BANG instead of a WHIMPER...Cotto still kept his lips sealed.

    FACT.

I love Cotto. He's the man...but he did'nt want Floyd...nor did he name him as a possible opponent.

As far as Margarito goes...that's an arguement that has been long running.

    Floyd ducked him?
    Floyd did'nt?
    Margarito was worth it?
    Margarito was?

Regardless...it's now a moot point because good ole' Paul Williams sealed that deal a handful or two months down the road.

The fact remains that you either love Floyd or you hate him...we all know the side of the road that most stand on with Floyd.

    Hell...I'm a fan of Floyd...but he's easy to loathe.

As for Hearns and Leonard they would have slaughtered him and SRR would have decimated him.

Mayweather and De La Hoya would've always given each other problems. The higher in weight, the better the chances for De La Hoya.

Mayweather really didn't have much business fighting @ 154, like DLH @ middleweight.

No the real joke is you thinking ODLH would kill Mayweather, let me tell you no boxer in history would kill/destroy Mayweather. Is there fighters that can beat him ?? yes but destroy him ?? nope never. And lets remember the Mayweather at Super Featherweight was much faster and had genuine punching power at that weight. And its not like ODLH was "really past his prime" some of his best performances were at Jr Middleweight aka Mosley 2 aka Vargas, his fights against Sturm, Hopkins, don't count they were at a weight class ODLH was clearly uncomfortable at, ODLH had a 1 stone advantage and still was out boxed by Mayweather.

If a motherf***er comes back and he's got seventy million dollars, there's something wrong with him any motherf***ing way. He don't have no dope problems. He don't have no coke problems. He don't have no drinking problems. He has a couple of kids. If a man comes back from that, he got other problems.

Amongst all the waffle that is some pretty sound reasoning

"On the Teddy Atlas theory that Floyd Jr. did not want his father training someone to face him and have his family's dirty laundry aired over media channels: Teddy Atlas don't know shit. He don't know shit about boxing any damn way. He can't train nobody. So what he says don't mean shit. It has nothing to do with that."

I'd pay $59.99 to see Teddy Atlas and Roger Mayweather fight...

It's actually irrelevant as you could argue that Floyd beats a prime Gatti and Baldomir anyway.

The question is, as is alluded to above, would he have beat a prime DLH?

prime ODLH vs prime mayweather would be a joy to watch.

I dont think mayweather needs to fight cotto to secure his legacy, it may make him move up on the list alot but he doesn't need it. even IF he beat cotto by that time there would be another deserving fighter that everyone will be saying floyd needs to fight to secure his legacy...it will never end.

Baldomir may have been near his prime?? I mean he is just a plodding, slow ass fighter so i don't think his prime that relevant.

There is no doubt in my mind that Floyd would beat prime Gatti and prime Baldomir, I don't know about a Prime ODLH though. But, for Roger to make such bold faced lies, claiming these guys were in their prime, makes Floyd look even worse.

Ducking Cotto and Margarito was a shame and will be the stain on PBF's would be legacy as the so called greatest fighter ever.
