It's a nice idea, but age is just a number and doesn't indicate how old/young a fighter really is.
For example, a 44 year old Bernard Hopkins is really younger and fresher in boxing years than a 31 year old Erik Morales. A 45 year old George Foreman had less wear-and-tear on him than a 29 year old Riddick Bowe.
It definitely isn't a bad thing to require older fighters to prove they're healthy enough to fight, but shouldn't all fighters be thoroughly examined?
