As far as entertainment dollar goes, Pac is hard to beat. I like a fighter who can't stand to get hit and not hit back. Pac always struck me as that kind of fighter.

I'm a great admirer of what Floyd does/did in the ring, but I don't discriminate...Pacquiao always brings something exciting to the fight, and to the sport.

He and Floyd are near enough to polar opposites - defense vs. offense. Both have shown they have enough of the other attribute to mention, but for me, it boils down to what you like in a fighter. I like both!!

Floyd worth more? Sorry I'm not a big Pacquiao fan and like Floyd but if you are going to bring 20 friends over, drink beer and barbeque, who would you rather have them watch? The answer is clear it's Pacquiao.

Floyd is my all-time favorite, but the general population that doesn't follow boxing as much as 90% of the members of this forum would appreciate a Pacquiao fight like we saw tonight because they (unlike us) are not purists of the sport.

So floyd is worth more than pac?

    how?

remember celebrities like tiger woods, walking out before floyd vs baldomir even ended they we're so dissapointed?

In pac fights the house is always full and nobody leaves til a winner is anounced.

What is this purist of the sport excuse, boxing would be nearly dead without fighters like pac. Anybody that likes any style of boxing and follows it for years is a purist of the sport. Not just fans who likes hit and run defensive boxers. thats just an excuse to say boring boxers are cool

Floyd is not a huge draw, he was made to be like one but really not. Hatton and Oscar brought in all the fans, and reality is the ones floyd brought in are the few that wanted him knocked out.

I hope this isn't a thread made to wind up pacfans, its pretty lame.

Yes, very lame. considering that it was GAME who started it.

GAME is a pure PAC-hater and you know very well brother Julius not to fall into his trap.

Edit: Sorry, I thought JT and GAME are one.It was JT who started this thread and he sounded like GAME. My mistake...

I can't tell you how many times That the purchase of a PPV is based on the undercard for myself. It was actually a solid undercard with Santiago/Luevano and Soto/Lorenzo.The exposure of the Giant boxing Bear fields also helped .Ecspecially in a main event that was thought to be,and proved to be one sided going in.Also knowing that these days HBO will be reairing it in it's entirety the following week.Pac has managed to cross over in tremendous fashion to the Masses but still has a little ways to go in marketability Imo.I'd like to see him unify The title as opposed to predictably what is so popular.....jumping divisions for name fights.....Hatton is so very tempting.

It always depends on the matchup.

After it's over, certain fights like Pacquiao-Morales 1-2, DLH-Vargas, Trinidad-Vargas, Barrera-Morales 3, etc....you should feel fine despite paying $50 because of the quality of the fight.

Other fights may appear on paper to be good, but ultimately be disappointing. Like Morales-Barrera 2. So you feel ripped off.

Now, certain fights like Mayweather-Baldomir, DLH-Chavez 2, DLH-Campas, DLH-Rivera, etc.....NEVER should've been on PPV for $40 and up in the first place!

My primary gripe is the Matchup... 1000000000000000% world new Diaz was led to the slaughter and to shine for an alphabet title fight moving up in weight.... It was a great performance no doubt but not for $50

You can say this was like Mayweather-Gatti same scenario even though more people picked Gatti do beat Floyd with his power and Blood and Guts style, and Gatti got demolished without so much laying so much a glove on Mayweather and I dont recall paying $50..

Well...i'll just say it like this. I would shell out $50 for PAcquaio over Floyd any day of the week, because atleast you know you're in for a show.

Here's the deal Shame on me for buying the fight at $50 and then complaining about it. Thats on me

You are a diehard pac fan and thats cool and all but at $50 the EVENT should have some good build up and anticipation. From a non pac fan perspective it did not plain and simple. Thats a big turn off, at least with Floyd the promotion is there and it is an anticipated event whether you wanna see Floyd win of get his head knocked off and Diaz certainly wasnt gonna carry the promotion.. Thats my gripe

theres only been two or three well promoted floyd fight.

    gatti,hatton, oscar.

Floyd tried hard to whore himself and at times try to play the bad guy the thug but look at floyd his tiny compared to the average "gangsta" thats why he can't make american fans buy into that act. he does not look tough, his not a street guy, its hard to be intimidated by him due to his size. Plus in pacs case, he doesn't need to promote. He does his thang in the ring and thats why everyone loves to watch him. Pac doesnt have to whore himself. what has boxing come to when we are talking about fight promotion, instead of what the fighter does in the ring.

j.t you talk like every floyd fight is huge and worth $50 plus, it never is ok. pac fight is and majority will agree. this fight with diaz, wasn't competative but was a lot better to watch then any floyd fight cause not only pac dominated and box diaz ears off, he also finished him off and its thats much more exciting cause diaz is a former welterweight and pac a former featherweight. unlike floyd hatton, floyd came down from 154, and hatton came up from 140 and floyd was the so called "p4p king" real kings go up in weight class to fight the guys above not below.

Lets compare pac and floyd fights, if you'd like cause if pac isn't worth $50 then nobody in boxing is.

you certainly are entitled to your opinion... Entertainment value is subjective... I gave pac props and credit in another thread I started and said an EVENT like him fighting Hatton or doing the impossible and fighting Cotto or Floyd Etc. That is worth $50 bucks not some guy who was brough to the slaughter... To me its no more impressive than Gatti Mayweather... Dont give that shit either Floyd had moved up in weight plenty and fought the bigger guy, and you no damn well Pac was bigger, stronger and taller than Diaz so skip the symantics already

I feel I am purist of the sport, I like every aspect of it, and I like what I saw him as much as pretty much anything I've seen from Floyd. His offensive amazingness and sound defense is comparable to watching Floyd's air tight defense and little used offense. Floyd was my favorite fighter, maybe ever, but he is as exciting as RJJ, Pacquaio, Cotto, etc. and I admit that. He is too much better than his opponents and he is too technically sound to slip up in any department of his game which makes it hard for there to be any drama in his fights.
