Sorry, but as a purist and moron I dished the $49.95 for this PPV, but Pac aint worth it to me, I bought it for my passion for the sport but not for the fighter... People can clown Floyd all they want but he was worth more than Pac...

How so? Pacquaio is one of the most exciting fighters I've ever seen. Best offensive fighter right now, and always a great fighter.

    Taeth,

I think its the magnitude of his fights... I felt like he was always #2 to Floyd and I think they should have priced his 1st fight as PFP #1 a little better, cause if Diaz beats him the scrutiny will be fierce moving up in weight or not

PBF, imo, the best P4P fighter since the turn of the millenium if not longer.

The Pacman is a fantastic fighter but few can achieve greatness like floyd.

    Lol

I feel sorry for David. What a beatdown.

It's been a while since I've seen Pac scored a 1 punch KO. And he did it against a fighter who fought once at 146.

As far as entertainment dollar goes, Pac is hard to beat. I like a fighter who can't stand to get hit and not hit back. Pac always struck me as that kind of fighter.

I'm a great admirer of what Floyd does/did in the ring, but I don't discriminate...Pacquiao always brings something exciting to the fight, and to the sport.

He and Floyd are near enough to polar opposites - defense vs. offense. Both have shown they have enough of the other attribute to mention, but for me, it boils down to what you like in a fighter. I like both!!

Floyd worth more? Sorry I'm not a big Pacquiao fan and like Floyd but if you are going to bring 20 friends over, drink beer and barbeque, who would you rather have them watch? The answer is clear it's Pacquiao.

IMO, as I've stated before, It doesn't matter if there is one star it takes good matchmaking for a fight to be worth PPV, nobody is worth it on their own. I know ODLH could sell a ton of PPVs fighting pretty much anyone really, but I'm not gonna be one of those people.

PAC (like any other boxer) is not worth the PPV by themselves, and Diaz was such an obvious mismatch, I elected not to pay for it.

PAC vs. Erik Morales II, now that was worth PPV.

So I kind of agree with you JT, I just think our logic of coming to that conclusion is different.

For me for a PPV to be worth it (speaking only of the main event of course) it requires
    1) Great Matchmaking
    2) A lot at stake
    3) Two fighters that have a chance at winning.

In this case this PPV was clearly set up to give PAC a lightweight belt. And while it is a nice thing for PAC and will look good on his resume it should have been a WCB event not PPV.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I don't see how anyone could say that you get more entertainment from a Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight than from a Pacquiao fight. I think the people who are disappointed aren't the ones who shelled out $49.95 for this fight, but the ones who shelled out $59.95 for that Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Oscar de la Hoya fight.

I think you seriously have to be bitter to watch the display Pacquiao put on and say that wasn't worth your $49.95 but a Floyd fight is.

How much are most PPV's are they normally cheaper?

$49.95 sounds like a hell of a lot, it cost me £7.99 per month to get Setanta, about $15 and that's for the entire month and they have the UFC.

I think you guys get jobbed on the price really, no way would be 50$ around £25 just to watch a fight, I'd rather Sopcast it for nothing to watch it live and download a perfect copy the next day.

You#re throwing your money down the toilet imo

    Bump!

Floyd is my all-time favorite, but the general population that doesn't follow boxing as much as 90% of the members of this forum would appreciate a Pacquiao fight like we saw tonight because they (unlike us) are not purists of the sport.

So floyd is worth more than pac?

    how?

remember celebrities like tiger woods, walking out before floyd vs baldomir even ended they we're so dissapointed?

In pac fights the house is always full and nobody leaves til a winner is anounced.

What is this purist of the sport excuse, boxing would be nearly dead without fighters like pac. Anybody that likes any style of boxing and follows it for years is a purist of the sport. Not just fans who likes hit and run defensive boxers. thats just an excuse to say boring boxers are cool

Floyd is not a huge draw, he was made to be like one but really not. Hatton and Oscar brought in all the fans, and reality is the ones floyd brought in are the few that wanted him knocked out.

I hope this isn't a thread made to wind up pacfans, its pretty lame.

Yes, very lame. considering that it was GAME who started it.

GAME is a pure PAC-hater and you know very well brother Julius not to fall into his trap.

Edit: Sorry, I thought JT and GAME are one.It was JT who started this thread and he sounded like GAME. My mistake...
