McCall's chin was phenomenal, but in that match I was thinking it was because he wasn't committing to fighting Lewis. He wasn't risking himself so he could concentrate or not--what the hell am I talking about, the guy was crashing from a crack binge. Who knows? Maybe crack deadens all the nerves in your head.

How about the million 1-2s Lewis hit Tyson with before he finally succumbed to Lewis pretty much pushing him over? People don't really talk about Mike's chin, but he could take a helluva punch.
    Oops

DeMarcus Corley hitting Mayweather with the big right hook that staggered him in the 4th round

Ray Mercer taking Tommy Morrison's uppercut can't remember what round.

George Foreman hitting Jimmy Young with a big left hook in the 7th round.

Thomas Hearns hitting Iran Barkley with a terrific body shot that doubled Barkley over in there 1st fight just before Barkley's KO shot.

Gerald McClellan taking Julian Jackson's over hand right in there 1st fight, just before McClellan's KO shot, the sound of that punch was scary.

Barrera hitting Naz with a gigantic hook can't remember if it was his left or right, but it was in the 1st round and Naz actually went into air after that shot. Dunno how he didn't go down from that shot because he was way off balance at the time.

That bastard was always off balance... I always wondered how those rubbery legs stayed under him... but they did

Carl Thompson took plenty of big punches from Haye and come back to win. He also took Eubanks, in fact he took a beating in most fights and won!

Eubanks taking the uppercut from Benn, which cut his tongue.

Watched Hatton-Tszyu last night. The left hook I think Kel has in his sig that popped Hatton back and looked like a 1 punch KO shot and Hatton got stood straight up then went right back in with his head down. That was great.

I did a thread on this a while ago. The one I started with was Hopkins' right to the body, right uppercut on Tito at the end of the tenth round.

I think it was the 8th round. When the round was over and Oscar lowered his defense and got a straight right. Received the punch and just walked to his corner .

As for a best single punch that comes to mind is Lyles vs Little when Little was going in and Lyles connected with a right hook to the jaw and down he went face first.

I know, huh? In that fight its not like Lewis was really beating McCall, it was more about McCall simply not wanting to fight. It was a bit bizarre.

I can't believe no one has mentioned (did someone say it and I missed it?) the left hook that Joe Frazier landed on Ali at the beginning of the 6th round in their third fight.

I'd have to actually watch the fight again, but one of the Taylor punches against Pavlik I think it was in the 2nd or 3rd rounds of their first fight.. The round where his legs were wobbling for probably 30 seconds... I expected him to go down from any punch Taylor threw after that.. But Taylor didn't do a great job of finishing, and Pav did a good job of staying up... Recovered well, and looked great in his corner at the end of that round as well...

There's been some great drama moments in boxing courtesy of great single punches against men with solid chins...

Another Pavlik one came in the Miranda fight where he backed Miranda up onto the ropes and Miranda came clean with a punch over the top that Pavlik didn't even see and Pavlik kept firing through it like he wasn't touched. If Pavlik didn't have a chin he wouldn't be where he is today I think his chin is very underrated.
