Sounds like a sensible plan to me. He seemed slightly on the decline in his last fight; the Hatton of 2005 doesn't let Lazcano past the 8th. He doesn't need to carry on much longer, and really there aren't any big fights to make at 140. I think the Pac-man bout would be sensational, but Pac-man's vastly superior hand and foot speed will be too much. People say that Hatton's too strong, but Pac has the advantage in every other department, and I'll take speed over strength 9 times out of 10. Pac by UD or possibly late TKO.

This is a prime example of how quick things can change for boxers, after the Mayweather fight I saw nowhere to go for Hatton he should have taken Witter on comeback he would have destroyed him, but with Witter gone there was simply no one left to fight, I don't see Paulie as that much of a challenge for Hatton, Paulie will never hurt hatton (unless he flicks him with his hair) so Hatton will come forward face first and smash his ribs up I see Hatton looking good against Paulie.

Hatton desperately needed a mega fight (one he has a chance of winning) and the only one out there is Manny but if he looked small or slow at 135 - 140 then people would say Hatton was picking a lose lose fight with a much smaller guy but what Manny showed against Diaz was that a tear up with Hatton could be one of the best fights of either of these guys careers as long as Manny can take shots from Hatton and protects his body (JMM caught and hurt him to the body) this has all out war written all over it I will sell my girlfriend to be there

I have felt sorry for Hatton because that career defining fight seemed to be nowhere in sight now, It could be just round the corner he will retire after this only if he wins.

    Makes sense to me.

Top the bill at the Garden and then fight Pacman at Wembley. Maybe not Oscar altho at 147 it would be interesting. I know Oscar struggled like hell to make 150.

I don't think Hatton will beat pac at 140. I've been saying all along that Pac's frame will allow him to be effective there....no matter how many weight classes he has moved up.

I said he'd be strong at lightweight. The same would apply at light welter imo.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I think Hatton might fare better against De La Hoya than Pac. Pac looked just as strong if not stronger against Diaz and 5 more pounds may just make him that much stronger, whereas a weight-drained Oscar at 147 might just be the trick. I guarantee you Oscar went thru hell to get to 150 and those last 3 pounds for a man in his mid 30s who already had a low body fat percentage is a nightmare. Remember, the fight isn't the day after he fought Forbes but months after this point which can only fare poorly for a man getting older. Ricky didn't look awful at 147, he looked awful against the P4P best fighter in the sport- there's a world of difference just like there's a world of difference between a 154 pound Oscar and a 147 pound Oscar. I guarantee if Hatton burrowed into his body Oscar would turn into a zombie after the 6th round, but guess what Ricky's going to get with a quick punching machine that munches up the extra pounds each time he hops up a division? A face ache. Hatton doesn't have Pacquiao's speed, punch accuracy are the ability to work for a full 12 like Pac does. At least Oscar fades. That being said, the Pac fight is the better fight to be made, it's just not the one that would be in his best interest if he wants to be on his feet by night's end.

Hatton up until Tszyu was a machine a great fight however he has steadily gone down hill with career worst against Mayweather.

From rds 4-10 against Lazcano he looked good stopped hugging.

Cant see Paulie or Manny touching him if he fights to the best of his ability tbh.
