Julius my friend, regardless of how crappy Valero's opponents are except Mosquera his punching power is undeniable.
Pac also fought BUMS early in his career but he wasnt able to take them out in 1 round, 18 first round consecutive kayos and 100% kayo ratio is Guiness book of world records type stuff.
I agree PAC should box smartly here ala PAC-DIAZ (even more cautiously).

Pac and Valero's resume can not be compared, valero is already 27 and his still fighting BUM's pac by 24 already brutally defeated marco. Pac always had the better oppenents since day one of pacs career. They never put anybody in with valero that had a pulse til he couldn't beat the 19 straight 1st round record. They hyped valero up like that but only after he couldn't get the record did they test valero just a little with mosquera. Thats actually valero's only good win and his already going up near 30 years of age. Talk about pampered record man.

If my sole interest in the sport was to see Pacquiao win fights, I'd want him to fight Valero next to. I think it's a complete mismatch. Valero is to easy to hit, has some questions around his own chin, way to slow to catch Manny with anything he shouldn't see. I do understand if the fight is made though, pretty much everyone else is tied up right now, wouldn't be a bad fight if it was made soon-ish. I think Guzman is the man to beat Pacquiao at LW. Maybe Juan Diaz or Campbell could give him a run as well, I kind of doubt it though. We'll see how Guzman does against NAte.

I agree but i do think it is a reasonable fight until the big boys at Lightweight get finished with there fights, and until Hatton takes care of Paulie. But i haven't ever really been impressed with Valero's power a majority of the time his KO's have come from a barrage of punches by coming out and swarming the opponent. As i've said before i think Valero is the new Daniel Ponce De Leon although not as strong as De Leon but pretty much the same IMO as in there both very limited. I think Valero gets crushed by Pacquiao unless he lands a very lucky punch, his defense is too leaky, he hasn't got good punching technique IMO he just swings for the fences, and he is far too slow and no one can stand toe to toe with Pacquiao at the moment and survive. And as for Joan Guzman i think he is very skilled and would give Pacquiao fits stylistically i think he is the worst fighter for Pacquiao to fight except Juan Manuel Marquez IMO.

Yup, Guzman and Marquez are PAC's kryptonites.

I remember when this fight was 1st tought of late 2006.

I couldn't stop laughing at the people who were actually thinking about it. I mean Valero had just won a title and the best opponent he had faced was Mosquera.

It was a bad idea then I still think it's a bad idea now.

On any other ocassion I would say that the fighter (in this case Pac) does not need a gimmie fight since Pac already had one with Diaz. But being that this is Pac and he's fought top caliber fighters I guess Pac can get away with it.

But my POV is that Pac blasts him out badly, just as bad as Diaz. If he doesnt it would be because Pac would be too cautios of Valeros power.

I wouldn't say Diaz was a gimme Hell David was the bigger man, But Pac did make him look like a gimme

Thats why his KO percentage isn't higher i was watching a few of his early fights a few days ago and i noticed he had a low KO percentage, but thats because he was still a boy, even Kelly Pavlik said when he was a boy he wasn't a puncher until he become a man.

Your talking like a pure hater. You either don't know or choose to ignore the fact that Valero until recently was not allowed to fight in the US. That right there is to blame for his poor opposition. Name a good fighter that would of gone to Japan and fought him? You can't. Cuz nobody would of done it. Valero has faced a lot of bums. But he's done what he's suppose to do with them. He's destroyed them. You can deny Valero's power if you want. But the great Erik Morales himself said Valero can punch. And Erik Morales opinion carries a lot more weight than yours.

So your saying just cause a fighter never fights in the US he gonna have poor opposition. What about the U.K fighters? Valero could of done a lot better going places to places like winky did when he wasn't gettting the respect in the u.s. Mexico,Europe,Asia. in fact thats a featherweight champion named chris john in asia. why couldn't valero go up and see him? he went up and saw mosq but im pretty sure adding chris john would of been a lot better then the other 23 bums on his resume.

yea eric said he can punch but thats in sparring. valero is sparring mate to eric and mab for preparation to pac. That should tell you his level compared to pac. a sparing mate, valero is just a sparring mate.
