you're kidding me with that comparison. am a big fan of boxing meself but i'm not going to watch a circus fight.
I was being sarcastic, I though it was pretty obvious. However, I sat through Briggs - Lyakhovich, so it should be apparent that I will watch anything boxing related.
all i'm saying is pavlik-williams might not be as much of a foregone conclusion as you think coz i really don't know how well williams will perform at a higher weight.

That's a smart way of looking at it - Williams hasn't fought at this weight for awhile, but he does have the frame for it. A lot of this match depends on what Williams brings at 160.

He has the speed now he needs to add some sting. 160 in my opinion is the best class for speed ,power and conditioning.

True, but I'd rather see Pavlik fight a big-name welter than a no-name middleweight. I'd rather see Paul Williams get a shot than another Gary Lockett.
So would I but why aren't they trying to get it on with Abraham? 2 Fighters on top of their game with great punch power and exciting fight styles. Williams still has a lot to prove at welterweight yet IMO and he could probably make more money there at the minute with all the big names knocking about. I really can't see the benefits for either fighter here.
Except for the fact that Pavlik keeps his undefeated record that is!

Williams should have no problem making weight, he has a middleweight frame. Doubt he has ever fought someone taller than him though. Kelly should look impressive but I can see this being a good fight. Seen the ghost last night and he looked good, he'll be ready or whoever Arum lines up, it'll be tougher for Williams if the fight is indeed in Atlantic City aka little YOUNGSTOWN when Kelly fights. Were all buzzing to get down there.

Abraham just fought and he has a mandatory coming up. I think the plan is for both fighters to take a fight prior to their meeting in a unification.

I don't know if there will be any unification fight. Both camps will want too much money.

Great point but I think an AA-Pavlik fight could and would probably be a PPV fight. Money would be generated

    Paul Williams

Looking at his weight during some of his fights, Williams was fighting as a middleweight and junior middleweight in the beginning of his career and with a height of 6'1" it's not a total mismatch.
For Pete's sake PAC is already being matched to guys like Ricky Hatton for crying out loud

Some use any excuse to discredit Pavlik and his wins. Williams I believe is a natural middleweight. Just feel Williams should take a different route like a fight against Sergio Martinez or Rubio. Needs to get his feet wet before he gets knocked off his feet.

Thanks Mexirican!!! That's how I feel too, a guy that BIG/TALL fighting as a welter is just insane, Williams this time is just fighting somebody his own size. I agree though a tune up would be fair enough.

Thats great stuff. You never hear folks slamming Hatton for fighting Pacman. But then they think its funny when he takes a challenge from a 6'1.5" Welter weight. Markduswhatever was there this much of a out rage for Hearns fighting Hagler?
