The year off hurt him. he should have stayed active and kept his momentum going after beating Simms. Congrats to santos though.

Psalm 144: Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle
Alcine looked like he didn't really want to fight. Fukk him. I had Santos by KO in the contest. So that's good
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
Dear Killership,
Unfortunately this time, we will not be able to please you. Puerto Rico will continue adding World Titles to its collection
By the way, feel free to visit the Island at any moment, where in addition to boxing talent we have the most beatiful women with 2 Miss Universe in the last 10 years and a total of 5. Just imagine the concentration of talent and beauty in such a small country (100 by 35 miles)Puerto Rico Vacations | Puerto Rico Tourism Company | Puerto Rico Tourism & Travel

Santos has always struck me as the type of guy who could do pretty well if he really wanted to. He's got some things going for him. I'd be shocked if Bunema beat him. Course I was shocked when Bunema beat Karmazin.
Damn Daniel Santos came outta nowhere. I hadn't seen him fight in years. Then he gets the title shot and wins a world title.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Decent hand speed, southpaw with really good power.
If he can stay active I def. see good things for him at 154.
How about we see Bunema vs. Santos.
Anyone up for that?
Seems like Bunemas caught a second wind and confidence...
Alcine said that perhaps the fight was stopped to quick. Someone has to speak with him and let him know that if you don't stand up before the end of the 10 count you are KO.
Great for Santos!!! Unfortunately his career has been characterized by long periods of inactivity (and here we go again) due to issues with promoters, among others. I am hoping that at this stage of his career he can make a couple of good fights. Perhaps, one alternative for Santos is fighting Margarito for a third time after Cotto beats him.

By the way Mick, that link was a great video collage. I noticed that Santos speaks very good English, much better than Cotto. He also seems like a humble guy. I hope that now he gets the respect he deserves from his fellow Puerto Ricans, who can be very, very, critical on the island. I remember they booed Juanma when his fight went the distance (I believe it was his last that went the distance). The fans should have realized that going the distance and winning was part of the process of maturing as a boxer for Juanma. In Santos case, he had shoes to follow like Tito and Cotto. He will never be as popular, but certainly worthy of respect from his countrymen. A fight with Mora might be intriguing stylistically.
