Agree with yenks. Cotto is going to dominate and win big on the cards. Fight will still be exciting because of the danger Margarito always represents, but Cotto will handle it and mess him up.

With that said, I would'nt be suprised if Margarito nailed Cotto and leaves him flat on his back with his face busted up....

Now thats covering all the bases ......I'm envisioning the latter scenario, only with cotto still on his feet, barely, and on the ropes around the 10th or 11th.Should be a really Intense Fight.

This is a really tough one to call, I have changed my mind about seven times during the last few weeks.

At first I could only see two outcomes, Cotto wins a UD or Margarito wins by R11 TKO.

I have been watching both fighters past fights with close attention, and the more I think about it, the more I begin to realise the tremendous focus Cotto has and then that makes me think there is no way he is going to be TKO'd. I think Margarito will hurt him no doubt but maybe not TKO.

Then I make a case for Margarito, there is no way he is going to get KO'd, he to will be hurt in the fight by Cotto but I see Cotto getting 'busted' up abit more but doing the more cleaner accurate work, which the judges will score and give rounds to Cotto.

Margarito has a devasting attack and he has shortened his punches up abit, Margarito's uppercut is going to be key and I think he will land with it on a few occasions.

I just can't picture in my head either guy being KO'd, so I will go for SD in a very close fight but the judges will give it to Cotto.

Margarito will say he won and very few will disagree with that either!

    Cotto by decision.

Margarito is a very good fighter, but Cotto just has much more in his arsenal. Cotto is the better jabber, he's got faster hands, more variety, etc.

The winner of this fight whoever it is would be. Especially if they fought one of the other champs in the division and won later in the year

Well I know I'm contradicting myself but that is just how this fight will play out. I mean look at all the post. It is clear Cotto many advantages in this fight and he will most likely take a big lead on all score cards based on his superior skill and ability. However Cotto still has a shaky defense from time to time and his chin can be cracked with the right punch, one thing Margarito can produce.

Cotto will eather dominate the fight to the end or he will dominate the fight till he gets caught and if he does it will be over quick. Margarito is a very good finisher. My money is on the former.

First of all, Marga already fought/beat/released a title this year, so he is definitely in contention for FOTY.

For me, there are really two factors that will influence the fight. The first is whether Margo will be able to keep his distance for combination shots. If he falls in he's doomed. The other factor is whether Cotto will continue to hit his opponent low when he gets caught.

My heart is rooting for a Marga KO, but this is truly a fight that is too close to call.

Well this so far is agreeing with what I initially thought. Cotto to win a decision. I'm going to put quite a wedge of money on that being the outcome actually as the more I think about it the more I think that this WILL be the outcome.

Cotto by decision. I think Cotto's jab will help him win this fight. That being said...i think Cotto's defense and chin (i'm not a sold on either) will give Margarito a real good chance. I just have seen Cotto rocked and dazed on too many occasions. Much props to him for always coming back...but eventually (unless he really tightens up his defense)...he will get KOed if he is not careful.
