But see that's what I'm getting at NO fighter is sensational EVERYTIME!

Not Ali, not Tyson, not Holyfield, not Lewis, not Louis, not Rocky, not anyone....so let's stop acting like Wlad could KO everyone in one round in some manic flurry of punches, it's not his style and honestly it's a bit strange that everyone expects something different from him considering how deep into his career he is so what I am saying is he's good enough to be #1 right now and people had better appreciate his skill because he does have a lot of skill you have to have skill to fight at his level and not just win but win by KO.

No one is saying Wlad is top 10 All-Time or anything....I'm being honest when I say it was an exciting fight and perhaps it's because I saw different things than you. Usually when Wlad gets hit he goes down or hangs on for dear life but this time he took some solid shots and it didn't bother him....this time he saw an opening vs a southpaw and took his chances...this time he threw the right cross earlier and went to the body and used the left hook. I saw subtle differences and changes in Wlad's game but all in all I think he became a better fighter tonight and hell maybe we'll see him do what everyone wants him to do next time but let's first understand he was fighting a big southpaw who had never been KO'd before and Wlad stopped him. Sure he made mistakes but there are rarely PERFECT FIGHTS...Wlad is a good fighter and a good champion he can eventually become great seeing how he's 32 and 51(45 KO)-3...that's a win better than Tyson's whole career!

People have changed what they expect from fighters based on the times...with Ali they wanted pure boxing flurries of punches, Tyson raw power and big KO's, Holyfield work ethic and heart, Lewis boxing and power and now that's not good enough for Wlad to box or for Wlad to KO someone....it misses a certain I don't know what and no one has defined what they want to see from him OR who could beat him (other than the Haye fans who remind me of the Toney fans of a couple years ago).

People hate on Wlad for a reason they don't like that he's some street thug who doesn't care about himself or his brain....OR they don't like that he's not Lennox Lewis which honestly I think is a big issue. People saw Lennox didn't get immediate respect and that was a shame but the same thing is happening to Wlad right now and it's shitty.

Respect him while he's here because the division without him......it's bleaker than you could ever imagine

    Amen to that Lyle.

It's what I said in Wlads last fight when he went the distance if it's not a spectacular KO then it seems like it doesnt count.
90 fucken percent KO ratio I mean come on people.

But whatever the Wladdy Bus is more spacey this way and more room to relax and stretch here.

The thing is, people are allowed to criticize. So Lyle get your panties out of a bunch.

A lot of people, when they see Wlad, they see a very flawed champion. Let's be honest, he's pretty much one dimensional. Sloppy, and one dimensional and even his most ardent fans should be able to admit that. No one is saying he doesn't have good power, a great jab and outside game, so for you to keep saying that is pointless. Everyone knows it.

No one out there is disputing that he's the champion right now either, that's not a criticism of his. No one is saying that Ruslan Chagaev is the real heavyweight champion, so to keep bringing that up is pointless too. It's something everyone knows.

But the fact that he is a champion is what gets people so frustrated. He's obviously limited. He literally has no inside game and only gets by on the inside because for whatever reason, he is impervious to being warned for holding. Of course Wladimir can't use his height to his advantage inside, but that doesn't mean he should be allowed to break the rules just because it is more difficult for him to fight cleanly within distance then others. And it's not just when other fighters come in on him, several times he got wild with the right hand versus Thompson and covered up immediately after a la Hopkins. He did that more then I've ever seen.

Anyways, all this frustration isn't neccessarily directed at Wlad. Like I said, he's head and shoulders above the rest of the crop at heavyweight. It's more directed towards the division in general, and how sorry of a state it really is. Really, there aren't enough harsh words to describe the division right now. Some divisions are thin at the top but filled with solid talent, others are heavy at the top but really aren't deep at all, but the heavyweight division is just all around bad. Really, it's a pathetic division with no signs of getting any better. They see Wlad, people see wholes in his game yet he's a kingpin with no real challenges since Peter. There's something wrong there.

Part of me wants to think Povetkin can do something, make some noise but I really doubt it but the division would be far better off if he did.

Again I agree we have to respect wlad. He is not the best heavy champ i've ever seen by a long stretch but until someone ignites the heavy division (hopefully Haye) he is the best out there and has proven it and however dire the division is imagine what it would be like if we did not have someone who we could without much doubt say "he's the man to beat". Another thing I like about Wlad is he is reasonibly active I mean he will probably have 3 defences in 2008 how often in recent years have we seen that?
