Shit people dont go 18yrs undefeated spending 11 as a champion, shit fighters dont beat Mikkel Kessler or Bernard Hopkins, shit fighters dont top the bill in LV.

Calzaghe is one of only two fighters ever to hold all 5 recognised titles in one weight division WBO,WBC,WBA,IBF,IBO shit fighters dont do that.

Shit fighters dont hold two ring magazine titles symaltaniously, shit fighters dont try and defend two titles at two different weights.

This has the 7 pages of nothing written all over it. Break out the vaseline, feelings are about to get hurt.

Calzaghe is decent but like Hopkins he didn't take many chances with his career when there were BIG fights to be fought outside of 168.

If you're Calzaghe you go to the US to fight Roy Jones Jr. at 175 earlier because #1 RJJ was the #1 pound for pound fighter in the world and #2 he was one of the most popular fighters in the world.

If he beat RJJ in like 1998-2000 then hell the sky is the limit but if he beats him now he does NOTHING for his legacy but if he loses then he shows he really was a protected fighter...Kessler is good but was still green when he fought Joe much like Jeff Lacy was although Mikkel had better fundamentals.

Calzaghe said neither Hopkins nor Jones wanted to fight him, in Hopkins case we know this to be true with Jones we can only assume it to be true.

Look at the guys Roy was fighting 1998-2002 why would you take the risk in fighting Calzaghe who at the time held nothing when you could beat up on cans for the same?

Facts are Calzaghe was not known in the US HBO would not go for it and he also had nothing for Jones or Hopkins to fight for no name no marketability nothing.

That of course changed when Joe beat Lacy because he was introduced to a US audience in a big way and immediatly drew attention from both Showtime and HBO who prior had never shown a Calzaghe fight live.

As for Kessler being green the guy was a great amature won two world titles and had 39 fights, if thats green in a Chinaman.

Well if Calzaghe says he tried to make a fight with Hopkins and Jones years ago it must be true

Just like he said his next fight was the winner between Pavlik and Taylor. I can get you the video of him saying it.

Well there's a reason RJJ and Hopkins didn't want to fight him....they'd have to go to England which is 100% the reason HBO and the US didn't care about him.

Sorry if you don't like it but RJJ and Hopkins brought the $$$$$ to the table, Joe was talented but he didn't bring what those guys brought to the table.

All those guys had options of fighting proper big name talent and they didn't do it....it could have been a golden age of boxing, it's very sad

Its well known that Hopkins signed to fight Calzaghe in 2002 only to comeback and double his demands.

People knock Calzaghe but Hopkins didnt leave 160lbs until he lost and Jones in the years you mentioned was fighting lets say questionable opposition.

Actually they had an agreement to fight Hopkins. It was practically all done and dusted and then Hopkins suddenly demanded double of what he had initially agreed to. So that's why the fight didn't happen sooner.

Roy moved up to LHW in 1996 or 1997 and Joe didn't win a title until 1997 so unless Joe was willing to move up to LHW which he didn't talk about until 2000s the fight could have never happened
