You have to remember to the general public in the states, the first taste of Hatton was vs. Collazo. This was billed as something the Hatton will clearly show his elite status. This was not the most stellar performance for him and I believe when you have your first showing on HBO people are going to galvanize their opinions around that. They don't care about the weight difference or how he looked years ago against Kostya, they were expecting a dominant performance. I did have ricky winning 6 rounds a piece but the knockdown won it.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
Yeah the crowd did act like trash whenever the national anthem came on so I can understand why they hate him and his followers.
The only time I really saw hate towards the British though was when Tarver was schooling Woods. You could really sense the anger they had towards the Brits. Ofcourse a week later the Brits got revenge with Joes win over Hop .

Really it's just small minorities on boxing forums.
Hatton is one of the most POPULAR fighters in America. If he wasn't, he wouldn't be paid astronomical amounts to fight there![]()
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
They don't hate him personally, they hate his holding.

I dont hate Hatton. He is a common man. I do however think his fans are rather crazy at times. But that shows passion. I wish they would stop booing the star spangle banner. Now Calzaghe on the other hand I could care less if he drank gas and tried to piss out a brush fire. I really disliked his fans at the Manfredo Jr fight do to the classlesness.

I know some Hatton fans off board. Of course, they are not boxing addicts like us saddo folk.
We seem to dislike Hatton when compared to his countrymen but he has fans here.

I think americans do like hatton. I think what you see on this board is just a backlash against all the people who think Ricky Hatton is the greatest boxer ever.
