Can't really say Cotto was taking Tony to school if his punches were pretty much mosquitoe bites that kept Tony walking forward without even bending the kneww a little. I can imagine Cotto started to shit his pants when he saw that the fists that were made of stone against other guys were fists made of pillows against Tony.

No, more like Tony is a slow mule with a chin. Cotto hits cleaner and harder than Tony. Don't forget, prior to the breathing issues, Cotto too was taking Tony's bombs to the chin with and reacted well. Marg by far has the BETTER CHIN.

Two things we learned.

1)Cotto is not the low blow when in trouble type. I always said this was BS if you watch the Cotto VS Corley and Torres fight.

2) Cotto's chin is sturdy when he is not draining his body. I saw this already in the Judah fight when Cotto acknowledged a nice Judah punch.. Difference between being on shaky legs and simply recognizing you got hit by a nice shot and wanting to protect yourself.

I will say yet again. Tony was a bum in the fight except for his chin and the fact that Cotto ALLOWED him to come forward the whole night. A nice JAB and laterl movement would have nullified that donkey drunken donkey style of Margarito's. I guarantee you.. Cotto will be punching walls for months when he sees how he allowed the fight to go.

Cotto himself has admitted that he hit Judah low, stating that "he will do anything to win a fight" So you are wrong about your boy.

It was barely round 2 when Cotto got that uppercut that sent him to sit on the ropes and start breathing from his mouth from round 2 and on. Some punches pay their toll as they accumulate. We've seen Chavez, Mayweather, etc. Do that.
Interesting how people said that Cotto would work on Tony's body and make him quit. It was the other way around and it was seen as early as round 2. As for the breathing issues, guess what caused it.

I posted something earlier pertaining to this. I would like to see Tony fight a couple of more times and call it quits. Guys going to be sitting in a rocking chair sipping apple juice through a straw when he's 50. Great chin, no doubt, but brains are complex things and getting jiggled around like pudding isn't a good thing, especially to the extent his does. I'd love to see x-rays of his skull; must be 10 inches thick

Good point. Look at how things ended up for Mike quarry though And Oscar Diaz is still fighting for his life from that brutal loss a couple of weeks ago. I don't know how Tony can not only take the punishment, but smile at his opponent when he's getting hit for the 1000th time

Nothing like revisionist history and living in denial.Yawn Sanchez..."Not even 40 jabs the entire fight by Margarito"....He threw 30 in the 1st round.The way he tucked his arms into his sides negating alot of Cottos body work is also discarded ?Sometimes when you can throw a very high volume of power shots with so many angels .....constantly and big time hurt on people,your not exactly thinking about backing up.Contrary to some,Tony can throw a diverse group of shots,over & under.If It ain't broke,don't try to fix it.Look,Margarito does not pretend to be what he is not.He is not a polished technical boxer,he is not fleet of foot or a ring finesse master & he is not adverse to catching his opponents best shots on the chin and then smiling at them!Nor is he some pretentious loud mouth that leads with his tounge and then follows with his fist's.He is one that maximizes his strengh's and forces some good fighters to realize there own weaknesses. People are forgetting the good work Tony did in the first half of the fight. He got tagged to get his body shots off and clearly hurt Cotto as early as the 2nd.

Are people really suggesting that Cotto just randomly fell to bits from about 6 or 7? has anyone seen Cotto that tired he was virtually spent by rd 10 that was because of the work done early in the fight.

I never once see this schooling people blabber about i see early that Cotto could not take the pressure and that Marg took his shots a hell of a lot better than Cottos tokk his.

What ever you guys say it will never change the fact that during the first half Cotto was landing his bombs in combos and that Margaros Chin made all the difference. Other boxer could have never stand for such a painfull assault like that.
