I dont think it would ever be open seaon on Miguel Cotto, but I do think he needs to get his confidence back, the last thing you want is for him to go in against a big puncher like BErto and get gun shy.
Well-l-l-l.... maybe an Alfonso Gomez before Berto. But once he was all the way back, he'd still have Berto for lunch.

I believe De La Hoya might be a good option for Cotto to come back. He will retire De La Hoya and make big money. This may be a good way to get his confidence back, and prepare for a rematch with Margarito, if he wants. If both of them remain at 147 I believe that rematch will be unavoidable...

In rematches the guy with the greater skills wins about 80% of the time. He uses his skills to outbox the other guy instead of getting involved in a fight. So we've already seen the rematch. Cotto went backwards and used his boxing skills from the first bell and he still got stopped. The rematch would be no different.

I think Cotto should take 6 months off and comeback with a warm up fight early next year, regain lost confidence and challenge Margo about April/May 2009

Now you're talkin my language. But, at least someone who can defend themselves. Putting him in with a Gomez would be bad ala Boom Boom Mancini who was never the same after he killed that boxer. Cotto is gonna come back with ferocity and we need someone who can at least defend but give him his confidence.
    The key is Self-discipline.

if cotto fights margarito again the results will be the same, but worst! Cotto was hitting him with everything he had and Toni walked right through. Cotto better stay away from Toni,Williams, and Cintron he if he don't want to get ktfo!
