who doesnt fear for hopkins life im a fan of bhop but i kno hopkins is gonna have big time trouble with pavlik actually instead of a ko i rather see a corner retirement. because this is gonna remind me of ali vs larry holmes hopkins just isnt gonna be able to handle the power. i mean come on kelly is like 33 with 30 kos thats about a 90% or more knockout ratio. well for bhop it was good while it lasted

Great read, I personally think Hopkins could frustrate pavlic and draw him into making mistakes and win rounds that way, pavlic ain't ever fought such a crafty bastard.
Really am looking forward to this though

I think Roach needs medical attention. Some of the shiit coming out his mouth recently is idiotic. He's the one who should get the burden of the blame when De La Hoya massacres Pacquiao. He's brain washed Pac into thinking he has a chance. When in reality he has no chance

I said it before on another thread about this fight. I think it's going to be the manifestation of the old boxing cliche where a once great fighter gets beaten by a younger fighter he probably would've handled in his prime.
Pavlik by stoppage as he retires B-Hop.
I don't see how Hopkins who IMO beat two of the top 5 p4p fighters in his last two outings in Winky Wright and Joe Calzaghe should retire. Joe had a hard time landing anything.
I look at it like this RObinson's age is what made Fulmer, Turpin and all those guys challenging for him, I think Hopkins in his prime was so much superior to Taylor, Pavlik, Cazlaghe, everybody but Roy Jones and Winky Wright that he made it look easy all the time, now its getting interesting because he isn't as good as he once was which makes this more of an even playing field. People have been overrating Pavlik, and he doesn't hit super hard, he is really good, but Hopkins definitely has a legit chance of winning this.
I might add that both Winky and Calzaghe put a lot of Pressure on Bernard, and the important fact is they couldn't land solid shots. If these two accurate guys with great timing, really good speed can't land on Hopkins, why would somebody assume that Pavlik can? I think Pavlik is very similar to Trinidad in many ways in that he can box, and he has power, but I believe that movement like Hopkins will really trouble him.

Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.
Mayweather/Dela Hoya was largely considered a toss up, but Mayweather beat Oscar with relative ease despite stupid scoring by the judges, he had it by 4 or 5 rounds.
People thought Bernard would get killed by Tarver because he moved up 2 weight divisions and fought the hardest puncher under cruiserweight, and a talented boxer in Tarver.
People thought(me included) Bernard might lose to Wright becuase Wright was so much younger, fast, great defense, great instincts, but Bernard won that won
People(me inluded) thought Bernard would get overwhelmed by Calzaghe, only to watch Bernard completely neutralize Calzaghe's offense. Those compubox numbers were bullshit Calzaghe landed about half what they gave him.
Pavlik could definitely win this, but so could Hopkins, Pavlik has a weak chin, he is relatively easy to hit, he doesn't have the best movement, and he didn't look all that great against Taylor when he last moved up.
I think both Hopkins and Pacquaio are being completely diminished here, I mean do you guys even recall Henry Armstrong the little guy who went up from featherweight to capture the welterweight crown against a great past his prime fighter?
I didn't see Oscar walk right through Mayweahter's punches, what makes you think him at welterweight, against a IMO heavier Pacquaio then Mayweather he will be able to just walk all over Manny? Manny is a lot harder to hit. As a rule smaller fighters tend to be far more complete fighters then the bigger guys because they have to be. Marquez is a far more complete fighter then Oscar, not a better one, but a much better rounded one. I know that Oscar has much improved his right hand, but it isn't the same as MArquez's. We'll see how Oscar's jab lands on a southpaw. I once again think this is a interesting fight where Oscar will be the heavy favorite, but once against Manny is taking this fight for a reason. Roach who is one of the best coaches in the world is telling him to for a reason.
Had Roach just coached Pacquaio I would say this is suicide, but he also coached Oscar, and saw the fight against Steve Forbes, but if both those two things make Roach believe Pacquaio has a good chance, then I believe him.
