Mugabi's fight with Hagler is one of my favorites , i often wonder how good he would have been is he hadnt ran into the Marvalous one , or had he beat Dwaine Thomas , would loved to have seen him fight Matt Hilton at LMW ,

I will always remember John with a smile.

John was a very good fighter, but I think Hagler took something from him. Not necessarily physically, but mentally. You feel so indestructible, then run into a guy who can take everything you offer. His losing to Hagler gave his future opponents more confidence against him also.

HAHA Matthew Hilton. I remember him. Great Left Hook, shitty conditioning and dedication. Same with his brothers Davey and Alex (now they have all been in jail numerous times, robberies etc)

An interesting tidbit. Their Father Dave Hilton, also trained Joe and Arturo Gatti for a while when they were young.

Another tidbit: Buddy McGirt once beat Joe Gatti; then trained Gatti's brother, Arturo.

He had an excellent fight with Hagler which was superb to see and he looked good getting KO ed by terry Norris.
