Boxing is like baseball....a guy can look normal or even out of shape at times and still be one of the greatest ever.

Look at Babe Ruth, fat, sloppy, and drunk and he still managed to hit a ton of homeruns.

Look at anyone in baseball who is jacked up with muscles and they still could be bested by The Babe or any of the other old out of shape players for example Nolan Ryan or Satchel Paige.

As for boxers...Carmen Basillio tiny guy, small, ugly, unimposing and not the least bit intimidating and yet he was able to beat Ray Robinson. Look at the big musclebound fighters like Bruce Seldon, Michael Dokes, Primo Carnera....they didn't accomplish much when compared to just your average looking guy.

I'm not trying to boost the heavyweight division all I say is "it's competitive" when it really shouldn't be but hey what are you going to do. All I am saying is LOOKING in shape is different than fighting like you're in shape. Anyone can LOOK in shape but not everyone can FIGHT like they are in shape....like Antonio Margarito and the reason there aren't heavyweights like him is more than likely due to the shitty amateur system which rewards SLAPPING and not PUNCHING and so the power punchers learn to LAND but never to ACCEPT or DEFEND punches.
