I'm guessing it's his first time to a knockout spot? I remember doing some light sparring and getting hit flush with a pretty soft left hook, and felt dazed. But now I know what the feeling is like and you can sort of hide the look on your face till it passes. I'm guessing it's just a bit of an over-reaction, sort of like when you get winded for the first time and start gasping for air and panic takes over. At least it didn't happen in the bout, I think you'll just have to see if he is comfortable with it?

I understand where you're coming from and I agree with most of thanks Salty.

But what I worry about is him going down from a slight tap.
    There was nothing on it.

I had considered that when he was getting continuosly attacked he just gave up, lost heart and crumbled, but it does seem he was dazed - by a nothing punch!

Just bumping this up because I'd like to gain a few opinions before I decide on a course of action.

I dont know how much Id worry,I had Feur sparring a girl, and she dropped this girl twice within less then a round, the girl went on to win Rough N Rowdy.
Sometimes a shot lands just right, and the lights go dim

Knockdowns happen I realise that although I've never expierienced it, but this was a tiny punch Monkey, really a tap.

Honest, when I first started sparring again,I got caught with a couple of shots early on that led to flash knockdowns, one minute everythings going well, the next your thinking"How did I get down here?"But as I sparred more,I just redeveloped the ability to blow those shots off.
Im assuming your local commision is going to ask for an MRI anyway,if that comes back clean, dont sweat it.
I would make him spar more, just to get him more accustomed to taking those shots

    Perhaps,
I'll see what his attitude is like in a week when he's back in the gym, if he wants to I'll help him, but there is doubt in me now.

There will be no MRI, it was in private sparring.
