    My question is

Is there such a thing as a great trainer? or is there certain trainers suited for certain fighters?

Every "great" trainer has had great wins and bad losses...

Certain trainers and bring out the best in certain styles, there isnt a trainer in the history of the sport imo who could of trained anyone better than the rest...

They all had their styles, they all have their skills. One trainer will train a certain fighter with a certain style better than another but will fail with a different styled fighter...

99% of what fighters do is down to skill... trainers can fine tune certain attributes to make them that little bit better, and certain trainers are special to certain things, from jab, timing to just pure work rate...

Eddie Futched trained a lot of great heavys. Norton, Holmes, Frazier and Berbick all beat Ali. Bowe, McCallum, Arguello, Foster et al.

I don't think it's that easy to call.

I think theres a lot of ATG trainers but to distinguish just 1....

I mean take Chickie Ferrera for example I think he's VASTLY underrated. He def. has an arguement as the GOAT.

And McCallum. I think he has brought the best work out of Wlad too. Also he made Holyfield look rejuvinated for Bowe II. I do rate him very highly but some people just don't work well together, thats why some people didn't have the same success as others under Manny.
