Morles is 100% washed up... he can still fight and beat second rate fighters like david diaz whom he was screwed against...

But to me this is why erik will never been a true great, he became shot to early... true ATG don;t do that...

But marco is sumin different... ok no secret, my all time fav fighters...

but what stops him being champion now, is not age, but hunger...

his timing isnt what it was, but i thought he beat JMM and his fight with pac was close, both of which he had no real hunger, u seen it in both juarez fights, he was content to just "do enough" something the great barrera never did, he always fought with a purpose...

while the pros and conns debated weather marcos was saving him self or no longer cared, it turned out he just no longer had the hunger...

but if he could, for one more fight get the must win back, there is maybe only pac who could beat him, and i would give him a very good chance over pac

I thought he had a good chance to win against Pac in their rematch. But what always distinguished Marco was that he could switch between brawling and boxing as well as anyone EVER. The last fight that he showed these qualities in was against Marquez. Against Pac in their rematch he fought extremely tentatively throughout. I don't blame him...he probably had their first encounter on his mind...plus Pac's explosiveness and speed requires caution. It's just that he showed almost no energy or fire in that fight...and without that...he isn't Barrera. Is he still an incredibly skilled fighter who could beat a lot of guys out there...sure. But he just doesn't seem to have that hunger and war like attitude to beat a guy like Pac anymore. He has nothing left to prove. He should look at his ultimate rival, Morales, and learn that it's not wise to stick around once you are past it.

Barrera and Morales were excellent fighters and I couldnt really stand Hamed but now you cant hear his annoying bullshiit when you see what he could do to good fighters when he trained properly it was something

If I were a promoter, id get Hamed out of retirement and to a decent trainer like Roach (steward didnt work) and make a rematch between him and Barrera, im sure it would still make money, Barrera would take it knowing he can beat Hamed and given a few stiffs to knock over Hamed would make some interest again and given Barreras decline Hamed might want it, then if he wan you would have Hamed in the mix of todays super feathers/lightweights.

Be interesting to see if Barrera could pull off the full nelson to turnbuckle slam again

I say lets see number 4 from the living legends. It will not hurt their legacy and they do still hate each other. Lets see it made, no warm ups.

Not really sure how much hate there is between them anymore. These pics were taken just 2 months ago.

Marco always keeps himself in shape, and I feel he could easily come back into the fold.

But, I fear for Morales coming back. As you can see from these pics, he has put on a lot of weight, and he had a problem with gaining too much weight in between his last couple of bouts as well. I really think it has affected his physical performance, and I would hate to see it deteriorate even more if he came back, and really put himself at risk for getting hurt.

I agree with some of others here i would say Erik Morales is 100 percent washed up but Marco Antonio Barrera is still up there with the top boys lets remember he did own Rocky Juarez who is a good fighter in there 2nd fight and then almost beat Juan Manuel Marquez who is top 5 P4P fighter and then he went on to win atleast 3 or 4 rounds against the best P4P fighter in the world today and these were Marco Antonio Barrera's last 3 fights in no way shape or form is he washed up and i still think Marco Antonio Barrera can offer alot to the sport and if he wants to comeback then why not ?

Thats exactly how I see it Preme. The commentary we go got scored Barrera as the winner in the pac fight and alot of people thought he beat Marquez so really if he just had better judges then Barrera would be p4p number 1 now . Neither of those guys could drop him or really control him so he isnt as washed up as some people think . I agree its entirely a hunger issue . As you say he never use to do just enough to win but being with Golden boy seemed to give him a business like mind like Oscar . Now he has left that promotional outfit and he is well rested we may see that hunger again cuz its totally how he approaches a fight mentally . I absolutley welcome a comeback from him. He wanted to outbox Marquez , he did it . He wanted simply to cruise through 12 with Pac and he did it . I think if he really wants to fight with passion again then he may be able to do that too cuz its not as if he will be fighting a superstar 1st time out . He says he will make his decision before September anyway but Id love to see him comeback and Id go to the fight too . My favourite fighter ever!

Morales is a different story . He didnt lose the passion . He lost the physical ability and no longer has it in the legs . He has lost 5 of his last 6 fights and I wouldnt like to see him comeback, not even at the David Diaz level .

I don't want to see either in the ring again. I enjoyed them while they were here but now its time to move on.

I personally would want Barrera to continue fighting coz he can still win a fight against any superfeather except Manny.

As to his last fight with Manny, it was very clear though that he can't win against Manny just like Eric can't win against Manny. Anyway, Manny is p4p number 1 and he is up there coz he's the best right now in his natural division.Comparing Barrera and Manny, one could simply make an erroneous conclusion that Barrera is already past it. Comparing Barrera to Soto, Guzman and Valero, I,however, believe that he can still do it.

I think you're way off on this one, Morales is one of the truely great featherweights of all time. The reason his career ended when it did was because of all the battles he had in his career, not to mention his style. He constantly battled the best he could in the division, and won.
