with that said, i still, and will always be until proven wrong, in the "believe it when i see it" mind set with manfredo.. he had his chances, and he blew it both times.. Now he realizes the chances that he had, and seems hungry, but i still don't think he has what it takes at this point to become a top contender..

If he was fighting 160, i'd say maybe.. if he was able to go below 160 he'd have an even better shot, but i just don't see it happening at 168.. He does not have any exceptional defensive skills, and he takes a lot of short punches on the inside.. He has decent power but at 168 it is nothing to brag about.. No doubt the guy has skill, he just has the wrong style and is too small for this weight class, plain and simple.
I agree, if he'd managed to stay at 154, or even 160, he could've been a much more accomplished fighter. He was never going to be elite, but I think he would've been much better served at the lower weights.

Peter Manfredo freezes on the big occasion, simple as. It's the sole reason he won't be a top fighter. For some reason it winds me up that Jeff Lacy was there for the taking on 8/12/07 an Manfredo done sweet fuck all. Maybe fighting on HBO PPV freaked him out.

Manfredo is just not that talented. A hard worker though.

Although his fight with Lacy was close, he could have easily been declared the winner.

Manfredo has his level, if he fights a class above he loses, a class below he'll look good. He doesn't seem to have the hunger and drive to overcome the guys a little above him at the moment which is what he should strive to do.

I must admit that when I saw the word hunger in the title I assumed he'd leapt to Light Haevyweight.

    Peter should operate at 154.
A fight with Duddy would be good for both.

In all fairness to Manfredo, he was not even given a chase to warm up against Calzlappy. I think the ref knew Calzlappy injured his hand. I will even go as far as to say that this was already planned just in case.
If you hurt your hand, let me know, then swarm and smoother Manfredo with a bunch of smoke and mirrors and do the angry penguin slap on his azz and I will stop the fight.

Not to mention that Freddie CockRoach just left Peter hanging, on the biggest night of his life.
