That's an interesting one I wonder how both Pac and JMM are going to compete against a relatively large crop of lightweights. I would think Campbell to be the much bigger man.

I would personally like to see Nate Campbell - Anthony Peterson.

At this moment, it's in the initial discussions... nothing concrete yet...

Here's some of the talking points:

1. JMM wanted the fight in November (definitely not a good idea, Nate can't wait that long)

2. GBP wants Don King to be reasonable in his demands... (Don is always reasonable... )


But I really love this fight to happen sooner in July... so that we'll know who is the better grandpa...

JMM has a lot of options on who to fight before facing Pac again for the 3rd time. Imo, people would dig JMM-Guzman more than JMM-Campbell.

That's true... JMM don't need to move up to 135 since he don't have problems making 130 lbs... Heck, I think JMM can still make 126 and have a rematch of his tormentor Chris John...

Marquez made 40 grand to fight Chris John in his backyard the first time. No way in hell he'll be dumb enough to accept that kind of raw deal again, not when he could get some big fights in the States. Only way he'll ever fight John again is if the guy comes to the States to fight, which doesn't seem likely.

I would say both reasons. JMM wants a third fight with Pac because of the money and fans satisfaction.

Naah... JMM is a bad actor ... He didn't deliver it convincingly... When JMM asked for the paper (contract), it looks scripted... LOL

But JMM going for Campbell is a move to get nearer to that PAC 3rd fight IMO... I dunno if JMM will be successful, Nate is a tough grandpa...

IBF/WBO/WBA lightweight king Nate Campbell welcomes the opportunity to fight Juan Manuel Marquez, but not in November as proposed by Golden Boy Promotions. In regards to that potential fight, Campbell had this to say: "Let's do this. I'm ready to fight right now. But this waiting around until November business? What's that about? I'm ready to fight. I've BEEN ready to fight. I'm getting married in two weeks, and I can go straight to camp after my honeymoon. There's no reason this fight couldn't happen in late July or August. No reason at all.
